And the Kurds in all four countries have, at different times with different levels of intensity, rebelled against central authority. But the same cannot be said, obviously, for the other countries. La escalada de tensión sobre la frontera turco-siria provocado por la explosión de un proyectil sirio en suelo turco el pasado 3 de octubre de 2012 que produjo cinco víctimas mortales y ocho heridos, seguida del bombardeo de posiciones sirias e intercambios de disparos que han durando varios días, sirven para ilustrar el modo en el que las preferencias condicionan la percepción de la realidad.
