Extraordinary A Collection of Retro Portal 2 Posters | Oh crap, I skipped a day of Portal 2 related content this week? Well I suppose I’d better make up for it by posting a whole damn gallery of the stuff. But seriously, this poster series is definitely worth featuring, and contains some really cool designs by Flickr-ist wd.farmer. Most of them are from the section of the game where *spoilers* you descend to the depths of Aperture and discover Cave Johnson’s lost scientific playground. Ten games that make you think about life At the start of this year, we decided to come up with a list of Flash casual games with a philosophical bent. To be honest, we struggled. After days of research, we could only find a handful of games that had the thought-provoking depth we were looking for. Our list (which you can view by clicking here) was therefore only five games long. Fast forward to now, and it is remarkable how much difference a few months can make. Thanks to the work of pioneers like Daniel Benmergui, Gregory Weir and PixelAnte, there is now an abundance of clever arty Flash games to pique our intellects, and as a result creating this follow-up list of games that make you think has been a doddle. In a wonderful twist, it seems it is the Flash gaming space - until now known more for the throwaway nature of its games rather than depth - that is leading the way in this exciting new area of gaming, as we hope the following games prove. 1Immortall The game starts with you crash landing on a planet. 2Loved 5Coma 6Loondon

Dead Island Is a Decade's Worth of Zombie Games in One Well the problem I see is those games you mentioned are over-hyped crap. Dead Rising's time-based missions pretty much ruin the game, the weapons are essentially pointless and the fighting mechanics are so primitave that it feels like it should have been released on the n64. On top of that the zombies are slow, stupid, and act more like an environmental hazard than a wave of enemies. It always put me to mind of running through a lava level in metroid without your viara suit. Left 4 Dead sucks because zombie games are supposed to be about the melee weapon experience, and fast moving zombies combined with nothing but firearms made the game indistinguishable from any generic fps. The good zombie games are resident evil 4 and (to a lesser extent) 5.... and that's about it.

Live in a Video Game The first generation to grow up playing video games is now feathering empty nests, and plenty more gamers are buying and filling homes. Furniture and home decor companies keep adding designs catering to video game lovers, and those with a bit of time and creativity keep designing and building their own! A really dedicated gamer could furnish the entire house this way, but it's more likely you'd want to add just one or two game touches to your home to honor that side of your personality. 1. Code Hero teaches programming through gaming A new teaching tool for programming has taken it right down to the wire, fulfilling its Kickstarter pledge total just days before it was set to expire. Code Hero is essentially both a game and a programming tutor, in which players use the 'Code Gun' to shoot Javascript via the Unity 3D engine. Primer Labs, the team behind the initiative, hopes the combinations of gaming and learning will inspire kids and adults alike to try their hand at coding. The team's Kickstarter total was stuck around the $60,000 mark yesterday -- however, it received a significant boost of $50,000 over the last 24 hours, and has now reached its goal. Gamasutra spoke with Alex Peake, CEO at Primer Labs, about what he hopes to accomplish with the scheme. You say that Code Hero features a series of different games that encourage players to code. Code Hero is a game that teaches you how to make games from inside the games themselves. Which programming languages does the game teach? Code Hero is very different.
