ecology.msu.montana.edu/labdsv/R/labs/ R Labs for Vegetation Ecologists This section of the Laboratory for Dynamic Synthetic Vegephenonenology (LabDSV) includes tutorials and lab exercises for a course in quantitative analysis and multivariate statistics in vegetation ecology. Example data sets are included and may be downloaded to run the exercises if desired. Please understand, it is not my intention to teach vegetation analysis in these labs. HTML is simply too limiting. My intention is to demonstrate the utility of R (and S-Plus) for vegetation analysis, to teach the rudiments of the S syntax, and to make routines and examples available to augment formal study in vegetation ecology. As a compromise to those more interested in ecology than S, I have written a number of functions that minimize the amount of S you have to learn to perform vegetation analysis. Since I first wrote and posted this material years ago R has undergone extraordinary development, and has been adopted wholeheartedly by ecologists.

Grive: Open Source Google Drive Client For Linux Update: grive was abandoned and no longer works. You may want to take a look at Grive2 instead. The Google Drive client isn't yet available for Linux and the old Google Docs FS doesn't work too well with Google Drive, so besides the web interface, the best solution to get Google Drive on Linux right now is using Grive, an unofficial, open source, command line Linux client for Google Drive. For now, the application is considered experimental and it lacks full sync, but it can upload and download new or changed files already (so you can access your files offline). Initially, Grive didn't support uploading new files and it could only upload changed files but the latest version from GIT (available in the WebUpd8 PPA) supports uploading new files too. Update: the issues above have been fixed (except for watching for changes and automatically syncing them) in the latest Grive.
