To the outside world Vivian Maier was just a nanny and housekeeper working in Chicago. But she also had a hidden talent was not recognised until after her death in 2009. Maier spent her life wandering the streets of Chicago with a Rolleflex camera strapped to her neck taking remarkable black and white pictures of a different side of the city, and a different side of life in America. Camera Shooting Modes - How to Understand the Camera Shooting Modes on Your DSLR Understanding camera shooting modes can make a real difference to the quality of your images. Here is a guide to the five main shooting modes on your DSLR, and an explanation of what each mode does to your camera. To start with, you'll need to locate the dial on the top of your camera, with letters written on it. Their personalities seem to be captured well in these stunning images. The result is amazing. Split Family Faces Cousins: Justine, 29, & Ulric, 29 How much do you and your family members really look alike? Quebec, Canada-based graphic designer and photographer Ulric Collette has created a shockingly cool project where he's exploring the genetic similarities between different members of the same family. By splitting their faces in half and then splicing them together, he creates interesting new people that are sometimes quite normal looking and other times far from it. He calls this series Genetic Portraits. (Did you notice that Ulric, the photographer, is one-half of some of these pairings? Kiss is a personal photo series that gives us an aerial view of couples kissing. The choice of black background places the focus right on the couple. It's beautiful to see the shape their bodies make when connected in a tight embrace. We recently caught up with Andy and he was kind enough to answer some of our questions. Where are you from?
