LMN Architects 6 Tips for a Perfect Sky | Visualizing Architecture I can’t believe that I have not written a post about skies yet on this blog. In most cases, a sky can make or break an architecture illustration. It’s also something that I see a lot of people overlook or only spend a few minutes on in their renderings. The thing is, a good sky sets the entire mood of an image. I have put together some ideas to think about when looking for that perfect sky. 1. Oversaturation is an issue I see often. 2. Unnatural color brings with it similar issues as oversaturation. 3. As much as you may like clouds, too many will hurt the reading of the image. 4. This is one of those situations where you look at an image, and something seems off, but it is not clear what is wrong. 5. This idea is more important or less important depending on the view. 6. You don’t always need to show clouds. The Final Image The sky I ultimately chose was a cloudy one with pockets of blue.

Now, these videos are accessible to the public via the YouTube Channel ACB (Art and Culture Bureau). Each documentary is approximately 26 minutes long, and focuses on the genesis and impact of a single building that has played a role in the evolution of architecture.

Favorite Architectural Cutout and Texture Resources | Visualizing Architecture Architecture visualization can consume a lot of resources and time if you’re not careful. With the tediousness of Photoshop and renderings calculating through the night, spending more that 20 minutes searching Google images for a specific texture or image can become a breaking point for many. Any way to save time in this field is a big advantage, especially in school. Below are some of my favorites websites containing free cutouts and textures. Skalgubbar offers up a large library of high resolution cutout people in PNG format. Immediate Entourage is another great site to find a large collection of cutout people. Gobotree is a large and growing library of free images and cutouts created by the people at Vyonyx. 4. Mr Cutout provides extremely high res cutouts from a descent size library. This site offers full cutout collections of people in specific situations. Probably one of my all-time favorites, I visit this site every time I am working on a new illustration.

21 Pieces of Furniture Made From Cardboard (Yes, Seriously!) If you’re a frequent reader of Brit + Co, then you know that we’ve been writing and making like crazy over the last couple months, all to create our very first book. Naturally, part of this process involved us finding the perfect interiors to shoot to bring our dream home to life. To find these locations, we teamed up with Airbnb to highlight two gorgeous San Francisco homes throughout the book. While on location, we definitely took note of the interior design and personality of each place. Guess what the little table in the photo you see below was made out of?
