Daniel Goleman - Emotional Intelligence

untitled Focus: The Hidden Driver of Excellence by Daniel Goleman In Focus, Psychologist and journalist Daniel Goleman, author of the #1 international bestseller Emotional Intelligence, offers a groundbreaking look at today’s scarcest resource and the secret to high performance and fulfillment: attention. Combining cutting-edge research with practical findings, Focus delves into the science of attention in all its varieties, presenting a long overdue discussion of this little-noticed and under-rated mental asset. In an era of unstoppable distractions, Goleman persuasively argues that now more than ever we must learn to sharpen focus if we are to survive in a complex world. Goleman boils down attention research into a threesome: inner, other, and outer focus. The author of the international bestseller Emotional Intelligence returns with a groundbreaking look at today's scarcest resource and the secret to high performance and fulfillment: attention. Goleman analyzes attention research as a threesome: inner, other, and outer focus.

Unemployment Quest! - a non-epic RPG by Charles DeYoe Unemployment Quest is a game about the experience of unemployed youth. Many of today's youth have graduated school and been unable to find work in any substantial way. As I was playing an old RPG, I realized that there don't seem to be any games that really speak to my demographic. The aim of the game is to turn the negative experience of joblessness into something less terrible, while still having fun gameplay that will not bog down players by requiring gigantic time investments. The game features an original score composed on Korg DS-10+ for Nintendo DS, designed to replicate the feel of old soundtracks to games from the 8 and 16-bit eras. This Kickstarter is specifically to fund the existence of a physical CD version of the game, which I'm aiming to sell at this year's ConnectiCon. And FYI the current plans are for the game to be for Windows only. Here are some preview screenshots of the game:

Accueil  - Editions SOIS, Aura SOIS Formation - Soins esséniens untitled Meditation: It’s Not What You Think Do you have family, friends, colleagues who say they just can’t meditate? Mind and Life’s resident neuroscientist Wendy Hasenkamp explores the popular misconceptions surrounding meditation, and the reasons to keep trying. When I explain to someone that I’m involved in research on meditation, it’s not uncommon for me to hear, “Oh, meditation—I tried that. I couldn’t do it.” This response brings up a mix of emotions in me that is equal parts sadness and frustration, with a heaping dose of motivation on top. Sadness because people have experienced meditation in a negative light and come to associate it with a sense of failure. If you do a quick online image search on meditation, what you’ll find is a popular depiction: people sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, seemingly serene and free of thoughts, some even with beams of light shooting out of their heads. The struggle with meditation typically arises because our goals are misplaced. What’s all the hype about? But don’t take my word for it.

5 Questions to Ask Before Starting Your Own Business : Innovation Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Ask yourself these five questions to find out. January 04, 2012 I just read Carol Roth's The Entrepreneur Equation. Every budding entrepreneur should read this book before throwing away the 9-to-5 (or 9-to-9) job and working for themselves. Carol's 280-plus page book clearly lays out what it takes to be an entrepreneur. What is your motivation? I've had a full-time job. Motivation If you want to be an entrepreneur to make a lot of money, you'll most likely fail at it. Timing The timing of when you become an entrepreneur is very important. Personality Being an entrepreneur requires a special personality. Business opportunity There are a lot of ways to make money. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur don't just pick any business to launch or run and think you'll be successful. Risks and rewards Being an entrepreneur gives you the opportunity to make big rewards on the risks you take.

Papelli Al Taglio A goûter : Cucuzza Bombolo
