Where hype and the internet come along: [Photos] 15 Artists Reinterpret South Park 15 artists including mythic Ron English will display on March 28th (tomorrow at Opera Gallery New York) 15 personal surrealist takes on the South Park universe. Oh! and season 15 starts April 27th. Coincidence? Doubt that. Can't fit this one Source: Wired Telekinetic Skateboard - Skateboarding Magazine Right after ZBoard gets attention from the media, Chaotic Moon Labs roll in with their second installment to their Board of Awesomeness project: The Board of Imagination. The Board of Awesomeness, Kinect-controlled skateboard featured at CES 2012, was the first part of this project also known as the “Why” part of the project, according to Whurley, resident evil genius at the computing company. The “Wow” part is The Board of Imagination. The Board of Imagination uses the same Samsung-built tablet as the Board of Awesomeness for the brains. It’s pretty complex stuff, but I wish Chaotic Moon Labs could’ve explained how the technology works a little more in-depth for us simple people. share 3427share Tony Owen is a web developer, skateboarder, designer, musician, traveler and blogger.

Weird Aquariums: One Pot, Two Lives - Okeanos Aquascaping Posted by Dabney B. on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 Image: tfhmagazine.com Out in the ocean and rivers there are a million different components working together to create a harmonious ecosystem for fish. Aquarists can replicate those conditions as best they can, but there will always be a few problems that hobbyists run into. Probably the single biggest issue is clean water, and that includes all of the complicated details like pH level, ammonia levels, and water cleanliness. How are these factors regulated in the wild? Image: yankodesign.com This harmonious relationship is the guiding principle behind One Pot, Two Lives. When you pour water onto the plant it trickles down through the soil and gets sucked up by the plant’s roots. But that’s not all. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing particularly revolutionary about this tank.

Homemade Tattoos First he showed us how to stuff a mouse. Now Andreas is back with a needle, ink, and some beer. Photos: Trippe & Trolf Yeah, bad tattoos are basically a bummer, right? It's easy-anyone can do it (even teenagers, who, according to recent scientific tests, don't even have fully functional brains). Here's what you'll need: 1) Sewing needles, not too big and not too little. To start with, assemble all your supplies on your work surface. Wait, on second thought, let's include one more thing in the photo: Being neat isn't required, but my OCD makes me have to arrange everything at right angles to everything else. Ask yourself before starting: Do I know this person I'm going to tattoo? There will be a little blood, so it's best to be cautious. Then take the needles you plan on using (remember: a new needle for every person getting a tattoo) and put them in a pan filled with a bit of boiling water and boil the hell right out of them. This is where neatness counts. Here are our ideas: Not bad, eh?

visualsundae 2012: a bloody good year for extreme sports | Whitelines Snowboarding 2012 has been a pretty remarkable year for extreme sports and on top of the ‘lympics, a damn good one for sport in general at that. This ‘People are Awesome‘ style compilation picks out some of the key extreme sports achievements and events of the past year and we think it does a pretty stellar job of summing everything up. On the snowboarding front they’ve included 16 year old Yuki Kadono’s backside triple cork 1440 at the Beijing Air and Style and Travis Rice winning the Red Bull Supernatural. Good to see that they haven’t overlooked Tom Schaar’s first ever 1080 on a skateboard or Trevor Jacob’s first ever double cork/backflip either. Perhaps even more remarkable are some of the things that we somehow missed this year – we’re not quite sure how we failed to catch wind (excuse the pun) of Gary Connery’s parachute-less wingsuit landing. And let’s not forget that dude that practically dropped out of space, breaking world records and the sound barrier in the process.

30 Creative Ways to Repurpose & Reuse Old Stuff We all have stuff that no longer serves any purpose around the house, but we still have trouble getting rid of it. Besides serving a purpose (again), repurposed items add this lovely touch of creativity and coziness to the space.
