9 Useful Scripts to build your own Social Network site A social network is a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called “nodes,” which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige. Social network analysis views social relationships in terms of network theory consisting of nodes and ties. Nodes are the individual actors within the networks, and ties are the relationships between the actors. THEY'RE HERE! 2010 DARWIN AWARDS - You've been waiting for them with bated breath, so without further ado, here are the 2010 Darwin Awards. Eighth Place In Detroit, a 41-year-old man got stuck and drowned in two feet of water after squeezing head first through an 18-inch-wide sewer grate to retrieve his car keys. Seventh Place A 49-year-old San Francisco stockbroker, who "totally zoned when he ran", accidentally jogged off a 100-foot high cliff on his daily run. Sixth Place While at the beach, Daniel Jones, 21, dug an 8 foot hole for protection from the wind and had been sitting in a beach chair at the bottom, when it collapsed, burying him beneath 5 feet of sand. Fifth Place Santiago Alvarado, 24, was killed as he fell through the ceiling of a bicycle shop he was burglarizing. Fourth Place Sylvester Briddell, Jr., 26, was killed as he won a bet with friends who said he would not put a revolver loaded with four bullets into his mouth and pull the trigger. Third Place After stepping around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a man walked into H&J Leather & Firearms intent on robbing the store.

No Reason Comics | Winter Is Here There are many reasons I can’t wait for April. I won’t have to scrape the inch and a half of ice from my car every morning. I can go outside wearing less than 7 layers. And, I’ll be able to rid myself of these horrible pants, and return to the shorts I love. But mostly, I can’t wait for Game of Thrones Season 2. I don’t think I’ve seen fantasy done so well since those first showings of The Lord of The Rings. Since the end of the first season, I’ve started reading the books and I’m as entranced by them as I was the show. So, do I read book 2 before seeing season 2? Decisions, Decisions… Large T-Shirt to Fitted Tee Tutorial I have these two t-shirts that I love. They're soft, comfortable, and have good worn (and sentimental) designs on them. But, I never wear them for anything other than around the house because they are large men's t-shirts and look completely shapeless on me. Then I found this great tutorial on YouTube for how to make a big t-shirt a fitted shirt! - T-Shirt Surgery: How to Make a Shirt Fit So, while I was staying with my mom at her camper this summer (she lives & travels in an RV), I asked her to help me try it out. First, a before & after look at the t-shirt we did. So, here's how it's done. Start with a t-shirt you love that's just too big Turn the shirt inside out and lay a shirt that DOES fit you on top of it, lining up the collars so that you can be sure it is centered over your large t-shirt. Thanks to brianagayle for the video tutorial & tips! No time to make your own?

Stuff no one told you: Simple truths of life At some point in 2010, Alex Noriega, illustrator from Barcelana, was going through a crisis due to some isues at work. He decided to start a blog as a way of trying to find what he was doing wrong. He wanted to put on paper all that he had learned in life as simple as possible and try to see if what was happening around him made any sense. And it didn’t Still, his work is great and we are happy to present it to you! Angry Call Though really, it was pretty similar to the eulogy. Here’s a new one, even though we were pretty busy bringing the dead back to life. Some of our popular stuff:

Harry Potter Re-imagined As Disney Characters In this post we will showcase the whole cast of the Harry Potter universe as Disney-fied versions of themselves. 10,000 Year Clock We are building a 10,000 Year Clock. It's a special Clock, designed to be a symbol, an icon for long-term thinking. It's of monumental scale inside a mountain in West Texas. The father of the Clock is Danny Hillis. Visiting the Clock will take a commitment. Building a Clock inside a remote mountain is a big task. This is the way you'll initially enter the series of tunnels and chambers that we're creating within the mountain. After many years of hard work and creative thinking, the final design and engineering of the Clock is nearly complete, and fabrication of the full-size Clock parts has begun. The Clock's chime generator creates a different bell ringing sequence each day for 10,000 years. Carved into the mountain are five room-sized anniversary chambers: 1 year, 10 year, 100 year, 1,000 year, and 10,000 year anniversaries. This is a really big project in multiple ways, and there are many partners who are helping make it a reality. Thanks for your interest in the Clock! Jeff Bezos
