The John Innes Centre Quick Links The John Innes Centre is one of eight institutes that receive strategic funding from the BBSRC. The institutes deliver innovative, world class bioscience research and training, leading to wealth and job creation, generating high returns for the UK economy. The institutes' research underpins key sectors of the UK economy such as agriculture, bioenergy, biotechnology, food and drink and pharmaceuticals. Athena SWAN The John Innes Centre is proud to be the first Research Institute to win an Athena SWAN Silver Award and becomes one of just five institutional Silver Award holders. The Athena SWAN charter recognizes and celebrates good practice in recruiting, retaining and promoting women in the fields of science, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM).
