Statens Institut for Folkesundhed - SIF Statens Institut for Folkesundhed (SIF) er et nationalt forskningsinstitut, der forsker i folkesundhed. Det vil kort fortalt sige, at der forskes i befolkningens sundhedsstilstand, og i hvordan befolkningen kan blive sundere, leve længere og undgå de store folkesygdomme, såsom kræft og hjertekarsygdomme. Statens Institut for Folkesundhed har nationale forpligtelser og har en særlig opgave med at bistå myndighederne med forskningsbaseret rådgivning og andre opgaver indenfor sundhedsforhold. Instituttet hører under det Sundhedsvidenskabelige Fakultet på Syddansk Universitet. Forskningsprogrammer og centre Forskningen er organiseret i tre programmer: Børn og Unges Sundhed og Trivsel Voksnes Sundhedsadfærd og Helbred Sundhedsfremme og Forebyggelse Statens Institut for Folkesundhed har desuden fem centre, som løser forskellige opgaver: Ledelse Ledelsesgruppen består af direktøren, administrationschefen og de tre forskningsledere. ScienceOpen ARKive - Discover the world's most endangered species Wildscreen's Arkive project was launched in 2003 and grew to become the world's biggest encyclopaedia of life on Earth. With the help of over 7,000 of the world’s best wildlife filmmakers and photographers, conservationists and scientists, Arkive.org featured multi-media fact-files for more than 16,000 endangered species. Freely accessible to everyone, over half a million people every month, from over 200 countries, used Arkive to learn and discover the wonders of the natural world. Since 2013 Wildscreen was unable to raise sufficient funds from trusts, foundations, corporates and individual donors to support the year-round costs of keeping Arkive online. As a small conservation charity, Wildscreen eventually reached the point where it could no longer financially sustain the ongoing costs of keeping Arkive free and online or invest in its much needed development. Therefore, a very hard decision was made to take the www.arkive.org website offline in February 2019.
Store Danske Videnskabsfolk Global Livestock Environmental Assessment Model (GLEAM) | Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations GLEAM is a modelling framework that simulates the interaction of activities and processes involved in livestock production and the environment. The model can operate at (sub) national, regional and global scale. GLEAM differentiates key stages along livestock supply chains such as feed production, processing and transport; herd dynamics, animal feeding and manure management; and animal products processing and transport. GLEAM is designed to analyze multiple environmental dimensions, such as feed use, greenhouse gas emissions, land use and land degradation, nutrient and water use and interaction with biodiversity. Outputs A complete simulation of GLEAM produces multiple outputs which can be either final indicators and maps or intermediate calculations for subsequent operations. Spatial resolution GLEAM is intended to assess the global livestock sector. To capture this variability, GLEAM uses regional or (sub)-national information on production practices and animal parameters.
