Otto Scharmer's Blog 3.6 Beta 4 Watch TV Online, Free TV Shows on SlashControl ALIA Institute | Authentic Leadership in Action Theory U – The 1st Proposition I am a huge fan of C. Otto Scharmer’s Theory U. It is one of the most powerful frameworks for understanding the essential shifts we need to make as we step into this paradigm shift. Scharmer sums up his Theory U with seven propositions, I’m going to write a series of blog posts taking a closer look at each of them: (1) The essence of 21st-century leadership is about shifting the fields of collective awareness and intention. That’s a radical first sentence. Certainly we can expect that anyone who is called to authentic leadership is also called to actually stand in that new place of awareness and intention. When I read eco-system awareness, I feel invited to see the whole as part of the whole. The true departure away from dominant approaches to leadership happens when Scharmer proposes that how we attend to a situation is what affects what emerges. As always, I continue to ask the question – what does this all mean to those of us engaged in the work of social transformation?

A New Theory of the Universe: an article by Robert Lanza about biocentrism building on quantum physics by putting life into the equation | The American Scholar Essays - Spring 2007 Print Biocentrism builds on quantum physics by putting life into the equation By Robert Lanza While I was sitting one night with a poet friend watching a great opera performed in a tent under arc lights, the poet took my arm and pointed silently. Far up, blundering out of the night, a huge Cecropia moth swept past from light to light over the posturings of the actors. The world is not, on the whole, the place we have learned about in our school books. I wondered if our interaction was different from that of any other two objects in the universe. The laws of physics and chemistry can explain the biology of living systems, and I can recite in detail the chemical foundations and cellular organization of animal cells: oxidation, biophysical metabolism, all the carbohydrates and amino acid patterns. Although the beetle did not move, it had sensory cells that transmitted messages to the cells in its brain. But we’re fooling ourselves.
