La iniciativa és de l'Institut Català d'Ornitologia, que ha posat en marxa -al febrer- aquesta web col:laborativa, en què qualsevol aficionat a les aus es pot apuntar i fer el seguiment dels ocells que podem trobar als parcs públics o als jardins, balcons i terrasses particulars. A ocellsdelsjardins.cat cal que s'hi donin d'alta i hi registrin un o més d'aquests espais per poder-ne fer el seguiment. Obtindran una relació de les espècies més comunes a Catalunya, que també es podran imprimir, i, amb aquesta relació com a guia, ja podran anotar les seves observacions en una fitxa i fer recomptes cada cop que vulguin.
