Website Customer Feedback Tools review Web analytics tools such as Google Analytics are used by nearly every company since they provide valuable quantitative data on site visitor behaviour. No surprise there. But web analytics systems don’t give direct qualitative feedback from site visitors and customers and the surprise to me, is that relatively few companies use these, although their popularity is increasing rapidly. We believe that qualitative website feedback tools are also essential to take the pulse of your website, but surprisingly they are less widely used despite paid services such as Opinion Labs being available for many years and some incredible free tools such as the much lauded 4Q Survey. 5th March 2012 update Thanks for your suggestions in the comments – I have included UserSnap and GetResponse as more cost-effective alternatives to existing tools and also recommend taking a look at Vaninas social comparison feedback tool on feedback tools. These tools are based on our review over the last year or so. 1. 2. 3.

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories - Bristlebot: A tiny directional The BristleBot is a simple and tiny robot with an agenda. The ingredients? One toothbrush, a battery, and a pager motor. The result? Serious fun. (YouTube video here.) The BristleBot is our take on the popular vibrobot, a simple category of robot that is controlled by a single vibrating (eccentric) motor. The starting point is of course the toothbrush. Cut off the handle of the toothbrush, leaving only a neat little robotics platform. Next, we need a vibrating pager motor or other tiny motor with an unbalanced output shaft. The kind that I got are happy to run on almost any common voltage– probably a range of 1-9 V. The last substantial ingredient is some foam tape. Attach the motor to the foam tape. A better method is to bend one of the leads down flush with the foam tape, so that you can *stick* the battery to the foam tape as well and still make an electrical connection. The completed BristleBot, running and ready for action.

Why Marketers Need To Channel Captain Kirk Twelve years ago, my flight home from Cleveland to San Diego was cancelled due to blizzard conditions. Continental Airlines ostensibly did me a favor by giving me a hotel and meal voucher for a Holiday Inn 30 miles from the airport. As I crawled to the hotel front desk at 1 a.m., I spotted a group of Trekkies walking in my direction. For a brief moment, I felt as if I had been transported to an alternate universe that resembled the Starship Enterprise. This is how I felt while attending the Mid-Atlantic Marketing Summit in Baltimore. The well-planned sessions got me thinking: Are CMOs and senior marketing executives orbiting this new "data galaxy" out of necessity, or out of curiosity? Marketing is expected to play a bigger role in the buying cycle--yet buyers don't buy based on Facebook "likes." Offline community engagement drives your brand. Captain Kirk, the Starship Enterprise commander, was respected for balancing his intuitive and logical qualities. Related articles:

The GROK Lab Internet marketing training >> E-marketing Books >> Internet marketing consulting UK Super Tuesday's Gadgets: Touch Screen Monitors, New Noteboo TV coverage of Super Tuesday was riveting, and not just because of the virtual tie between Democratics Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, or the fascinating and involuntarily twitching left eye of John McCain during his victory speech. The networks also featured some of the latest shiny gadgetry available, including multi-touch screens, elephant-sized screens, floating logos and robotics. Okay, we’re kidding about that last part — the only robots we spotted were among the candidate pool. Here’s the lowdown on each news outfit’s gadget setup. CNN: The Perceptive Pixel Touch screen, a Pie Chart, and the Overflowing Dells John King, CNN’s Chief National Correspondent, used Jeff Han’s Perceptive Pixel touch screen throughout the night, and man, does he know how to play with pie charts. In addition, to highlight the overall delegate count, King touched the corner of a paint application onscreen in order to circle specific info with his finger. Photo: Ted Pio Roda/Cable News Network
