Watercolor Tutorial part 2: Blending - The Alison Show Are you all as excited as I am for part 2 of Yao’s amazing Watercolor Tutorial series!?! If you need to catch up check out Watercolor Tutorial pt 1: Basics & Supplies! Now take it away Yao! Well hello folks! Here is the second tutorial on watercolor, and today I’m going to share with you guys how I use the blending technique. I’ve provided a step by step of a bouquet of flowers that I did for this post to show you how I approach painting flowers using blending. I don’t typically sketch my painting out beforehand in pencil, only because it can be difficult to erase the pencil lines after the painting is done. Everyone has a different approach to how to start a painting, but with flora, I like to start with the flower itself. With lighter-colored flowers, try going over the flower with a light wash first, and dip more pigment into the wet area to get a faded effect. Adding a different color, like I did with pink here, to a light orange flower will achieve a soft blend of the two colors. Yao

Soft Killing The American People Using Toxic Food, Toxic Water And Toxic Vaccines Michael SnyderActivist Post Have you noticed that there has been an absolute explosion in the number of people developing chronic illnesses, heart disease, diabetes and cancer? If you are like most Americans, you probably have quite a few family members and friends that are seriously ill right now. Sadly, most Americans have absolutely no idea why this is happening. Most of them just assume that all of this sickness is just “normal”. But that is not the case at all. The vast majority of people out there have never even heard about the dangers posed by aspartame, fluoride, genetically-modified food, pesticides, high fructose corn syrup, pharmaceutical drugs, cell phones and toxic vaccines. Toxic Food Do you believe that “you are what you eat”? Well, have you ever considered what the animals that you eat are being fed? If you are like most Americans, you will probably eat beef several times this week. Of course this is not true of all beef that you purchase at the grocery store. Toxic Water

pleats n' eats Cascading Paper Flower Garland April shower bring gorgeous cascading paper flower garlands! You may remember a version of this garland that I created about a year ago. I have made some changes, upgrades and improvements and here it is, version two just for you. I can see this garland as a backdrop for a wedding ceremony, or for at the reception. It would also be perfect for a spring party or event. Or to decorate a room. DIY Woven Bracelet & Necklace & greeneyed.com I’ve been itching to make myself some jewelry inspired by Aurélie Bidermann’s “Do Brasil” line. Since I don’t have 300 Euros lying around, this looked like a design I could recreate on my own. I was primed to put together a DIY Tutorial for you all when I discovered that Honestly WTF had already done the honors. I picked up the gold necklace and the two bracelet chains from an antique shop for $5 a piece, and had the embroidery thread on hand. I only needed scissors and two bobby pins to see this project through. Pretty amazing results, no? Jump on over here for the tutorial. NECKLACE: I used shades of pale blue and turquoise embroidery thread, and wove through one side of the chain to mimic this necklace. CHARM BRACELET: This bracelet was already armed with charms. DOUBLE BRAIDED BRACELET: For this bracelet, I removed the charm and just used the chain. Photos: Courtesy of Ashley Weeks Cart

Unique Flower DIY: How to make a fresh flower geometric bracelet If I go too long without doing a flower DIY, I start to twitch a little bit. So, I thought it was about time for another… Since summer is basically here, I wanted to create something colorful and fun that you can wear to the pool (though I wouldn’t wear it in the pool) or to an unconventional dinner party (the wine and donuts kind). So, I put together a geometric flower bracelet that you can make in almost no time at all. 15 minutes max. Want to make one? Here’s what you’ll need to make a geometric flower bracelet: Floral Wire // Floral Tape // Scissors + Wire Cutters // Fresh Flowers (I used Solidago, Delphinium, and Dianthus) How-To: 1. 2. 3. 4. Depending on the flowers that you select, your bracelet will last about 8 hours. This would be a fun accessory for a wedding too – maybe as an alternative to bridesmaid bouquets or something simple for the flower girl to wear, instead of a floral crown. Lace & Pearl Bracelet & Flamingo Toes I have another fun Target knockoff to share with you. Last time I was there I stumbled upon a great little bracelet. Here is my handy camera picture. :) I love the lace and pearls combined with the leather. I have a quick tutorial for you if you’d like to make your own. You’ll need: leather cording – I used about 28″hem tape lacepearls – I used 16threada bead with a larger hole in the centeroptional – a thimble Start by cutting your cording into 14″ pieces. Start in the center and work your way down one end – sewing the pearls to the cording. Continue adding pearls down one side – 8 in all. Move to the other side of the cording and add 8 more pearls on that side. Once your pearls are all sewn on, you can start wrapping your lace. Cut a long piece – and start wrapping it around the cording between the pearls. Keep wrapping all the way down one side of the cording. Repeat with the other side. Wrap your lace around the cording on one end and knot it. I hope ya’ll aren’t tired of knock-offs. :)
