As a big fan of TED Talks, I came across the following video of Gaurav Tekriwal showcasing the benefits of something called Vedic mathematics, which is basic a set of strategies to help simplify difficult calculations. Gimcana matemàtica | Sandra Gay Fa un temps, tornant d’un viatge amb unes companyes de feina vam estar pensant com podiem treure les matemàtiques de l’aula, i vam decidir fer una gimcana matemàtica entorn el tema de la mesura i longitud. La veritat és que els resultats van ser molt bons ja que el més important va ser treballar les matemàtiques de forma competencial i també que sapiguessin justificar el resultat. No vam perdre temps en avaluar si el número del resultat era exacte o correcte. La preparació van ser senzilla, van fer grups de 3 alumnes, cada grup portava un mapa del centre per orientar-se i saber on estaven situades les 10 proves i una fitxa on justificaven les respostes a cada situació plantejada. Les proves van ser les següents: – Quants barrots hi ha al pati de sorra? – Quants alumnes hi caben drets al sorrat del pati d’infantil? – Mesura quan fa la porta d’entrada al centre per saber si hi passaria un camió que fa …d’alçada i …d’amplada. – Quantes ampolles d’un litre necessites per omplir una galleda?
