Comme je sais que vous êtes encore nombreuses à ne pas oser vous lancer dans la confection de maillots de bain, je vais essayer de vous accompagner du mieux possible. Pour coudre un maillot de bain, il faut très peu de choses : du lycra (c’est le tissu principal), de la mousse Claudia (c’est la doublure), et de la laminette (c’est l’élastique qu’on utilise notamment pour les tours de cuisse). Tout cela est bien sûr détaillé dans tous mes patrons. Poéma, le dernier patron Étoffe Malicieuse, ne nécessite que le minimum : lycra, doublure et laminette ! Bio - Darrell Thorne Darrell Thorne is a Brooklyn based, multi-disciplinary artist working in the areas of makeup, costume design, and performance art. Darrell specializes in creating otherworldly, highly detailed characters and elements for stage, screen, and editorials. As a performer Darrell works regularly in nightlife, theatrical, and private events in New York City, nationally, and internationally, and has been featured in videos for Jennifer Hudson, Blondie, Brooke Candy, The Magnetic Fields, and Steven Klein. Recent live performances include the Park Avenue Armory (New York), Ageha (Tokyo), the Social Star Awards (Singapore), The Life Ball (Vienna), the Mexico City Cabaret Festival, and as the opening act on RuPaul’s Drag Race Premiere Tour. As a costume designer, Darrell’s work has been featured in editorials for Numero, VMagazine, Japan Vogue, and Paper, and he recently designed a custom mask for Madonna, worn in her Living for Love video.
Autour du noeud papillon – Stiff Collar Le nœud papillon est à la mode ces temps-ci. C’est en particulier le cas pour les mariages. Les jeunes le trouve en effet distrayant et moins ‘business’ que la cravate. Mais plus rares sont les hommes qui portent quotidiennement le papillon en remplacement de celle-ci. Pour ma part, je préfère le nœud papillon à la cravate, moins pratique. Le nœud papillon est plus concis, presque plus mesuré dirais-je ! Le papillon est aussi très facile à nouer pour quiconque a pris le coup de main. Et puis le papillon est avant tout très suranné, ce qui par dessus tout constitue un avantage à mes yeux. Si les moins aventureux préfèrent les nœuds déjà tout fait (je ne les en blâme pas, c’est déjà sympathique de porter quelque chose autour du cou de nos jours), pour ma part je ne tolère que les nœuds à faire ! Revealing Dita Von Teese in a Fully Articulated 3D Printed Gown Last night at the Ace Hotel in New York to a crowd of uber-cool fashonistas and paparazzi we revealed the 3D printed gown designed by Michael Schmidt and Francis Bitonti modeled by queen of burlesque Dita Von Teese. The fully articulated gown based on the Fibonacci sequence was designed by Michael Schmidt and 3D modeled by architect Francis Bitonti to be 3D printed in Nylon by Shapeways. The gown was assembled from 17 pieces, dyed black, lacquered and adorned with over 13,000 Swarovski crystals to create a sensual flowing form. Thousands of unique components were 3D printed in a flowing mesh designed exactly to fit Dita’s body. We would like to extend a massive thanks to the entire team at the Ace Hotel in New York for organizing the collaboration and an amazing event. Glamorous cats in New York cat fashion show We have all heard about New York Fashion Week, but what about the New York Cat Fashion Show? It’s a posh show that takes places in the lobby of Algonguin Hotel, and the participants are different kinds of cats dressed up in Haute Couture outfits. The whole ceremony is rather odd with dressed-up cats parading around in front of their owners, but it still can be amusing, especially if you’re a cat lover.
