Jesus likes crappy gifts. | Sammy Adebiyi Dads are weird. They love lame gifts from their kids. Have you seen some of the 'art' or 'paintings' dads have on their refrigerator? I swear my dog [the smart one, not the dumb one] could draw something more grand. Worst part is when dads try to show it off. Oh boy. Hey check out what my boy drew me for Christmas. *cricket* *cricket* Awkward isn't it? Very. But I admit, I'm one of those dads. Every dad probably is. Unless you don't have a heart. I'm not kidding. How amazing is it when you kid makes/draws/buys you something! The crazy part is we know its coming and we know its not 'worth much' in the grand scheme of things but yet we still delight in it. For Fathers day this year my daughter bought me something using my money. Add the fact that she has a not so good hand writing and you've got quite a 'messy' gift. But you know what? The best part was the look on her face. She didn't care that it was my money. She just gave it her best then she enjoyed that I enjoyed it. If so, guess what?

Anyway, you click on us, which is the surest way a website has of measuring interest in its content. The All-TIME 100 Movies feature—compiled by Richard Schickel and me, and handsomely packaged by Josh Macht, Mark Coatney and all the smart folks at TIME.com—attracted a record-busting 7.8 million page views in its first week, including 3.5 million on May 23rd, its opening daym, in time for Father’s Day. Thousands of readers have written in to cheer or challenge our selections, and thousands more have voted for their own favorites. The idea was to assemble 100 estimable films since TIME began, with the March 3, 1923 issue. Not so simple, in fact, for we faced a couple of complications. Why do the list? LISTOMANIA I feel one of my grand gender generalizations coming on, and I can’t resist it, so here goes. As with baseball, so with favorite movies, TV shows, comics. I too was a teenage listmaker. But, pardon me, we’re better. Ah, Leone.

Folding-Wing Glider: Rockets Up ... Glides Down! As a kid, I remember my dad talking about this seemingly magical balsa wood rocket glider. With the wings folded back, the glider shot into the air using a hand held rubber band attached to a stick catapult. Wind resistance held the wings back, then when the glider reached its peak, the wings popped open for a long and graceful glide down. About ten years ago I began thinking about this glider and whether or not it was still available. I began researching on the internet about the glider and there was very little information to be found. With these gliders out of production, I had to have a new stock of my own. Why do rappers hold their guns sideways? As police chased Raymond "Ready" Martinez through Times Square on Thursday, the street hustler and aspiring rapper fired two shots, holding the gun sideways "like a character out of a rap video." According to the New York Post, Martinez's side grip caused the gun to jam, enabling police to shoot and kill the suspect. What's the point of holding a gun sideways? To look Hollywood, of course. Journalists and gun experts point to the 1993 Hughes brothers film Menace II Society, which depicts the side grip in its opening scene, as the movie that popularized the style. While the New York Post reported that Martinez's side grip caused the gun to "stovepipe"—that's when the spent casing gets caught in the ejection port, jamming the weapon—it's unlikely that the horizontal orientation caused the failure. While the side grip does not increase the risk of stovepiping, it is terrible for aim. Got a question about today's news?
