dagre in Javascript Is it possible to get non-sorted tree in dagre? If you create a tree in dagre it creates it by lexically ordering it based on id of nodes. Is it possible to create a graph based on the order the data in node was fed i.e the order in which I had provided data? I tried to google it, but didn't find clear answer to the same. Position of a custom shape using dagre I'm trying to create a custom shape and set x and y axis on the svg, so far I got it done but for on top of my element I have a transform attribute that belongs to a group (g) that references the node, I tried to change the attribute setting a custom transform but without any luck. my question is, how can I change the x and y position for the whole node? for generating the node: the translate is 65,152 and I want to be the same as x and y of the object an also I want to change the child groups (including the wrappers for the labels) as well. look at the image for reference Source: (StackOverflow) flowcharts in d3js using dagre-d3 or colajs

A new digital ecology is evolving, and humans are being left behind This is an excellent point. You mean something similar to Valve's fee on steam's marketplace? They take 10% cut out of every transaction, no matter how big or small. Unfortunately, it (the Tobin tax mentioned in the article ) is being resisted by some very powerful people. Not really, that's more akin to the capital gains tax already in place. The problem is that because these taxes are based on percentage, its fairly easy for the algorithms to overcome the higher tax rate with small margins and massive trade volume. For the algorithms, however, this is a major roadblock. The added overhead of the fee means that this method will not work as well if at all.

Technical Tidbit of the Day: Javascript Dagre & D3 to visualize Big Data dataflows Big Data projects often involve a lot of stovepipe processing, and visualizing data flows is a powerful way to convey data provenance to the end user, and even allow control of the involved processes. There are a number of tools available to visualize data flows, but most suffer from some limitation. Some allow labeling of only nodes, but not edges. Some do not have a provision for the node label to be inside of the node. Dagre, a Javascript library built on top of the D3.js visualization toolkit, is very well-suited to visualizing Big Data data flows. Dagre generated the above from the succinct input below: You can paste it into Dagre's live demo yourself, and you can see that mouseover highlighting is possible, meaning it is possible to hook it to do drill-downs.

Autopoietic Computing | DarkAI Blog Proposed by: on 12/30/2013 Reality augmented autopoietic social structures A self replicating machine is a machine which can make a copy of itself. Just as biological entities have DNA which operates on the same principle of self replication, the same fundamental process which takes place in biological organisms can take place in artificial lifeforms. This fundamental phenomena allows robots to essentially create clones of themselves. Computing software protocols like Bitcoin rely on decentralized self replicating nodes to create a unified shared blockchain which acts as the public ledger for the network. Self replication of a reality augmented autopoietic social machine can be facilitated by many different methods. The protochain could just as easily have been called a seedchain. The 3d printer could be considered a replicating machine but it is not a self replicating machine until the 3d printer can print another 3d printer. References Ackley, D. Eder, D.

dagre-d3 IE workaround for SVG foreignObject element? - I'm an undergrad co-op and am currently developing a webpage project for my team. In the beginning, I chose to use dagre-d3 library to construct graphs, and they work fine on Chrome. Then I realize that ForeignObject element in SVG doesn't work on IE (which happens to be the primary browser to support). Since my goal is essentially to populate HTML content in each graph component, I was wondering if there was any workaround to implement this on IE still using dagre-d3. Essentially I wanted to create graph shown in the screenshot below: Below is the code I use now to construct the graph using dagre-d3: HTML Snippet: JS Snippet:
