*NOW WITH PHOTO TUTORIAL* A great way to use up scrap yarn! Brooches! After working on different projects I always, as you all know and do too, have all of thiese little scrap pieces left over so the other day I thought about trying to make a brooch. So they ended up looking more like corsages though! LOL! I still think pinned to a sweater and even on a hat or purse would be really pretty too. Maybe I should have been a florist! So I started them out by crocheting a circle in green with cotton yarn to make it sturdy, then did the individual flowers and leaves and sewed them onto the round cotton base. I used cashmere and mohair yarn, but on the white one I was going more for texture than color so I also used angora and silk. Anyways, here they are: Now for the tutorial: I start with a round circle in green cotton (because cotton is very sturdy) Then I add fringe along the bottom with strands of mohair, I basically just use a yarn needle and tie it on in a knot. ...continuing with the fringe... I make some flowers in different colors and textures

How To Add Beads To A Project With A Homemade Beading Needle | KnitLove You can buy beading needles at any craft store, but I like my own homemade version the best. I strip the paper off a twist tie, then I bend it just off center, so one side is a smidge longer than the other, to make it easy to slip on to a loop. It should look like a skinny V. Slip a knit, or purl loop, into the “V” and press the top ends together to slide a bead down the needle and onto a loop. Here is how I use it (from Glimmer Beret): 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.)

Croche - "Mimos" para as companheiras de "escapadinhas"; em forma de BROCHES, foram os meus "mimos" para as companheiras de viagem . . . Fiz rapidinho, durante a viagem . . . me empolguei com os resultados obtidos! Crochet Santa Pixel Square The other day I gave my social media followers a peek at this crochet Santa square and now I am going to give you the graph pattern and tell you a little bit about a large project I have in the works! Santa is square number 1 of 9 total squares that are going to make up a Crochet Christmas Character Afghan! As I finish each square, I will post the graph and reveal the next character/image in the blanket. Feel free to work along with me! I am using the corner-to-corner (C2C) technique. VERY IMPORTANT: Instead of the traditional C2C method of using DC’s and chain 3’s to make each pixel, I used HDC’s and only chained 2 (and chained 5 instead 6 on the increase stitches). You do not have to use the C2C method either! When you finish the graph you will want to make a nice SC border around the entire square. Stay tuned for square #2! Santa C2C graph translated into a written pattern by Jennifer Heath-Rogers Color Chart: G = grey W=white R=red B=black P=peach (or pink)
