Nikon D90 Digital Camera Review - Nikon DSLR - Digital Camera Reviews, Ratings of Digital Cameras & Comparisons of Popular Cameras - DigitalCameraInfo.com Introduction In many ways the Nikon D5100 is what the Nikon D5000 should have been: an evolution of the D90, made lighter and cheaper, with video recording capabilities that stretch beyond gimmickry. The Nikon D5100 is one formidable camera. With full-time autofocus during live view and video recording, the same 16.2-megapixel image sensor as the Sony A55V, the Nikon D7000, and the Pentax K-5, and a host of creative new image effects, this is a camera that, quite simply, blows past most of the sub-$1000 competition. Design & Usability The D5100 lacks the internal focusing motor of the D7000/D90-level of Nikon cameras, but the articulating LCD is a great addition. If you’ve held Nikon's D5000, D3100, or D3000, then you’ve basically held the Nikon D5100. The redesign puts most controls conveniently within a thumb’s reach. As for layout, with an LCD screen that now swivels out to the side of the body, Nikon has had to redesign the button format to accommodate the hinge. Features Performance

D90 | System and Accessory For 75 years, NIKKOR lenses have delivered unmatched optical performance. From ultra-wide-angle to super telephoto, NIKKOR lenses have been praised the world over for their ability to deliver extraordinary sharpness, contrast, color accuracy and consistency. Many NIKKOR interchangeable lenses include the advantage of Nikon's VR (Vibration Reduction) system, allowing you to shoot up to three or four shutter speeds slower* than would otherwise be possible. *Under Nikon measurement conditions This is a versatile 5.8x zoom lens with VR (Vibration Reduction), making it ideal for a wide range of photography — from landscapes to portraits. This compact and lightweight lens covers the wide focal range of 16mm, and with VR II (Vibration Reduction), you can shoot at shutter speeds up to four stops slower* and ED glass elements control color aberration. Photoshop Tutorials, Tips, Tricks and News Nikon 24 mm f/3.5 PC-E Nikkor ED An In-Use Report and Overview Part of Nikon's resurgence during the past year was the announcement in January '08 of three new Perspective Control lenses, a 24mm f/3.5, 45mm and 85mm. The 24mm was the first of the three to ship, (and arguable the most useful for the landscape photographer), and is the subject of this report. Firstly, I should make the point that this lens is primarily usable with full frame (FX) and film cameras. For someone that has never shot with a large format technical camera a lens like the 24mm PC-E will be both enticing and intimidating. I've been using view cameras for decades. Sidebar: While some perspective control can be done digitally in Photoshop and similar programs, often with decent results, in the end if you can do them with a rising front on a tilt / shift lens the results will be superior. The Overview A lens like the Nikon 24 PC-E does two fundamental things that no other type of lens can do. Rock face. Nikon D3 with 24mm PC-E lens @ f/16 & ISO 400

Some of the other highlights on the D90 include: A 12.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor Continuous shooting at 4.5 frames/second Live view on an ultra-sharp 3-inch LCD display Active D-Lighting for improved dynamic range Numerous in-camera photo retouching tools HDMI output Optional GPS for geotagging On paper, the D90 sounds like a very impressive digital SLR. The D90 will be available in two kits. Here's what you'll find in the box for each of these: If you buy the D90 with the 18-105 kit lens, then you're ready to start shooting right away. Like all D-SLRs, there's no memory card in the D90's box, so you'll need to pick one up (if you don't have one already). Speaking of the battery grip, here it is.
