Thom Yorke Plays New Songs, Performs With Patti Smith and Flea at Pathway to Paris The UN Climate Change Conference is taking place in Paris. To coincide with the conference, Pathway to Paris held a concert at Le Trianon featuring Thom Yorke, Patti Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea, and more. In addition to performing older material, Yorke performed two new tracks. It's worth noting that at 2:28 of "Silent Spring", Yorke says, "This is Jonny's bit," potentially hinting that it's a new Radiohead song. Yorke has been quite active in discussing climate change lately. The concert, held in partnership with 350.org, follows Pathway to Paris's 2014 event at New York's Le Poisson Rouge.

Tu l'expliques comment ?

But the results of All Songs Considered's 2015 listener poll may be the most diverse we've seen in ten years of doing these lists. From Kendrick Lamar's hip-hop masterpiece To Pimp A Butterfly and the dense harp-poetry of Joanna Newsom, to the effervescent pop of Carly Rae Jepsen, soul singer Leon Bridges and the immense jazz album The Epic from Kamasi Washington, listeners showed a lot of love for a broad range of sounds. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the weak showing by much beloved legacy bands. Poll Results: Listeners Pick Their Favorite Albums Of 2015 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Gorilla vs. Bear x 2015 year-end mix Here’s our annual year-end retrospective, a definitive 80-minute mix of the songs by which we’ll remember 2015 (it also doubles as a very emotional and hopefully serviceable misty-eyed New Year’s Eve soundtrack). Thanks for hanging with us this year, see y’all in 2016. mp3: [download all monthly mixes from 2015] En écoute : "Never Be Like You", le premier single du nouvel album de Flume Après avoir commencé à teaser il y a quelques jours autour de son prochain album - le second - via un mix de quatre minutes, Flume en révèle aujourd'hui un premier morceau.

25 records marked with the David Bowie seal of approval In 2013, Vanity Fair asked David Bowie to rake through his record collection and come up with a top 25 list of vital albums. “I do only have about 2,500 vinyls” responded the late Bowie. Nevertheless, the Starman obliged and came up with this fantastic and eclectic selection. This week, the musical index has come back to the public’s attention, shared notably by David Bowie News. Never one to follow the rules, the musical chameleon went about the tricky task the only way he could: “I’ll just make ‘em up as I go along”. “There is really no way to do a list of my favorite albums with any rationality.

Star Wars Album to Feature Flying Lotus, Rick Rubin, J.J. Abrams; Listen to New Flying Lotus, Rubin, and Baauer Tracks Last year, Star Wars re-entered the zeitgeist with The Force Awakens. The 50 Best Shoegaze Albums of All Time WHERE WERE YOU IN ’91? By Pete Kember If you had told me in 1991 that, 25 years later, I would be prefacing a list on shoegaze, I would probably have told you it would never happen. Few of these bands paid even the slightest, fleeting lip service to commerciality. I couldn’t see it. But things change; even by 1993, I was redressing my views. Drifting back further, my memory of the British hack who first coined the term “shoegaze” was that he was being derogatory. The funny thing is, like most of these genre tag inventions of the media, such as “punk” or “grunge,” the term “shoegaze” stuck—and apparently, it stuck hard. So who put the sole in shoegaze? So while we’re looking down, let’s discuss the roots.
