40 Maps They Didn’t Teach You In School By the time we graduate high school, we learn that they never taught us the most interesting things in there. Sure, you might be able to name the European countries or point New York on the map, but does that give a you real understanding of how the world functions? To fill this gap, we have gathered a great and informative selection of infographical maps that they should’ve shown us at school: every single one of these maps reveals different fun and interesting facts, which can actually help you draw some pretty interesting conclusions. Show Full Text What makes infographical maps so engaging is how easy it becomes to conceive graphically presented information. The best part, there are brilliant services like Target Map that “allow everyone (from individuals to large organizations) to represent their data on maps of any country in the world and to share their knowledge with the whole Internet Community.” Trust us, these are way better than the ones they taught you at school!

The present simple We use the present simple to talk about repeated actions or events, permanent states or things which are always true. To find out more about the present simple, read and listen to the conversation below. Can you give me some examples? Yes, of course. I usually get up at 7 o'clock. I see. Yes, we often use adverbs of frequency sometimes, often, usually or other time expressions like on Mondays, twice a week or in the summer. What about permanent states? Permanent states are situations or feelings which are not temporary. I like him a lot. We also use the present simple for general facts, for example when talking about science or geography. Thailand is really hot at this time of year. So what do I need to know about forming the present simple? The main thing is that the third person singular forms end in -s or -es. He watches black and white films at his cinema club on Wednesdays. OK, and the other forms don't end in -s or -es? What about questions and negatives? Yes, it is. Exactly! Ah, no.

Jim Reed's Home Page Web Resources Design: The high school mathematics resources created over the last two years have a different design. The dynamic interactive activities typically have a visual and symbolic output with a means to change length/parameters. For the units completed, I have tried to develop a comprehensive, concise set of math notes with applets that the reader to understand/remember the concepts and enhance their math intuition for real life applications. For most of these resources I want the user to start exploring the applet to discover as much of the pattern themselves, then use the notes on the left to fill in the rest of the pattern. I am using my own invention, CET (Closed Eyes Test) to check the effectiveness of the resources. If the resource passes CET, I can still see/interact with the applet with my eyes closed. Transformations Logarithms Conics Trigonometry Circles Quadratics Relations Interests: I enjoy developing on-line learning and teaching tools. Math7 Math8 Math9
