SpeedUp Photoshop performance on your machine Hello everyone, I thought I'd summarize in this document all the necessary information to reinforce the relationship Photoshop/Machine that I've learned from years of experience and specific updates like Optimizing Photoshop's Performance by Bryan O'Neil Hughes. Step by step we will see how to set all the settings speeding up performance, reducing rendering times and not least by implementing our workflow, I am sure that this information will be useful to most of you as well as have been for me. SettingsUseful Tips3D Performance We start, of course from the premise that the 64-bit version can use as much RAM as your computer will hold while PS 32-bit can only use between 1.7 and 3GB of RAM. You're still to have the option to compress it when the work is finished. Cache Levels on 4 by default can be left as it is while Cache Tile Size works fine at 1024k or 1028k if you have to work with large files. Best Regards Gaetano Giordano - ACP Italy

Wind Map An invisible, ancient source of energy surrounds us—energy that powered the first explorations of the world, and that may be a key to the future. This map shows you the delicate tracery of wind flowing over the US. The wind map is a personal art project, not associated with any company. We've done our best to make this as accurate as possible, but can't make any guarantees about the correctness of the data or our software. Please do not use the map or its data to fly a plane, sail a boat, or fight wildfires :-) If the map is missing or seems slow, we recommend the latest Chrome browser. Surface wind data comes from the National Digital Forecast Database. If you're looking for a weather map, or just want more detail on the weather today, see these more traditional maps of temperature and wind.

Jennifer in Paradise, taken by John Knoll in 1987, was the first digital image manipulated in Photoshop. John Knoll is a pretty cool dude. He's the chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic (the visual effects company started by George Lucas and now owned as part of Lucasfilm by Disney), has worked on movies like Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Mission: Impossible, and took the first image to ever be altered with Photoshop. Which he invented with his brother. Sheesh. Knoll took "Jennifer in Paradise" of his then-girlfriend, now wife, in 1987 as she sat on a beach in Tahiti (or perhaps Bora Bora). Meanwhile Thomas Knoll, who in the late ’80s was working on a Ph.D. in computer vision at the University of Michigan, had started developing image manipulation software that could run on a Macintosh Plus. John Knoll suggested features for his brother to add to the new software, and they became co-developers on the project. For the 20th anniversary of Photoshop in 2010, Adobe made a video (above) of John Knoll working with "Jennifer in Paradise" on Photoshop 1.0.7.

Absolutely Genius Ideas data-original="images/genius/29.jpg" class="lazy image"/> data-original="images/genius/75.jpg" class="lazy image"/> creativemarket When you're sharing PSD files with a client or preparing them for sale on a site like Creative Market, file size matters. Saving megabytes wherever possible helps you save time on the upload and the person on the other end save time on the download, so it's a critical step. But how do you go about it? Before you do any of these, save your work and duplicate it. 1. This is the craziest and most highly effective trick I've come across, and I found it entirely by accident. As I experimented with the files, I quickly found the answer. Obviously, the downside here is that you lose the nice file previews in applications like Finder and Bridge. Tip: Instead of adding a layer on top, you could simply hide all the layers. 2. I know this one sounds kind of obvious, but it's easy to forget some of the junk that accrues as you create your document. 3. The idea here is simple, a PSD with 100 layers is much larger than a PSD with ten layers. 4. 5. 6. 7. Will This Confuse Buyers?
