Report: Google Tablet Launching in July, iPad mini Up Next? Google has long been rumored to be coming out with its own tablet (co-branded with ASUS), and The Verge reports that the slate’s release has been pushed back once again, this time to July. Though the tablet was allegedly ready to ship in May, sources say Google wanted more time to tweak the design, and to allow for a lower price than the current target of $249 If the Google-Asus tablet was released today, it would ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 7-inch display, a Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU and connectivity via Wi-Fi only. On a related note, The Verge is also reporting on rumors that a smaller iPad with a 7.85-inch screen may be in the works over at Apple. Word of the so-called iPad mini has prompted speculation that Google is trying to beat Apple to market with its tablet, and some rumors say that the company is postponing the ship date so it can send off its device with the next-gen Jelly Bean OS.

Content Curation with PearlTrees Note: This post is also cross-posted over at the EasyBib blog. I’ve written and spoken before about the essential skill (a literacy according to Howard Rheingold) of students not only being able to collect content from their network(s), but to curate what’s collected. Just like a museum curator pours over artifacts to find the very best to display, we should also do the same not just for our own professional resources, but see it as an obligation to model it for our students. I came across a new resource recently (I believe the hat tip goes to Alec Couros for this find) called Pearltrees. After you sign up for your account, you can start building your own Pearltrees. Where to Get the Most Value for Your iPad 2 Trade-In (Updated) As Apple prepares to release the new iPad, owners of older-generation iPads are looking to sell theirs back and upgrade. Several online retailers– including Apple– offer buy-back programs, but keep in mind that retailers are only buying back models that are in near-perfect condition, and the following prices reflect what you should expect to get for an iPad 2 in good working condition. Depending on the retailer, you may have to hunt around for the link as some list it under gadget recycling. Keep in mind that some retailers such as Apple and Amazon place the amount of your trade-in on a store gift card. Update: As more people trade-in their iPads, trade-in values are fluctuating– Gazelle’s trade-in offer has actually increased over the last few days. The values in the above chart are accurate as of March 15th.

Pearltrees Raises $6.7M For Its “Collaborative Interest Graph” Pearltrees, a company offering a novel interface for sharing and finding content, has raised 5 million euros ($6.7 million US) in new funding. The basic unit of the Pearltrees service is the pearl, which is basically a bookmark. Users can assemble these pearls into trees based around a topic. Meanwhile, Pearltrees is using that data to determine how different topics and bookmarks are related, and allows users to find new pearls (related to whatever topic they’re exploring) through its “related interests” button. Following the lead from Google’s PageRank and Facebook’s EdgeRank, Pearltrees has named its technology TreeRank. In essence, it’s offering its own version of the “interest graph”, a goal that many startups are chasing.

The app helped me a lot because it allowed me to put a collection inside multiple collections. Also, I can put a website onto it and it shows what the front page looks like with out getting onto it. The bad thing about this app is that it won't let me onto it at school so I have to have a teacher log on for me. It can help me in the future by allowing me to present my work in a different way. by ah008352 Jun 3
