Food You Can Make in a Coffee Maker

Food You Can Make in a Coffee Maker
Like so many before me, I was once hungry in college. With term papers looming and the dining hall already closed for the night, food had to come from somewhere. That was the night I learned to make ramen in my coffee maker. At first I was nervous, pouring the hot water over noodles in my bowl, covering them, and letting it steep. Eventually, I became more adventurous: cooking the noodles in the carafe; putting the seasoning packet in the basket that normally holds the filter; adding an egg. This was cheap food prepared in as cheap a manner as possible. 1. Put two packets of instant oatmeal into the carafe. A dead simple recipe, but with the twist of adding a tea bag for flavor. 2. Fill a coffee filter with six broccoli florets. Clever coffee maker cooks will find a way to whip up a cheese sauce to go with this. 3. Put 1/2 cup of instant rice per person in the coffee maker. Rice cookers are for squares. 4. Place the eggs in the coffee pot. 5. Place chicken breast in coffee maker. 6. 7.

Restaurant Style Orange Chicken Alright you guys, seriously, this orange chicken tastes exactly like the best orange chicken you’ve ever had at any restaurant. I was very, very, very skeptical at first because I’ve never fried meat before and I was afraid it would turn out terribly. Kramer was adamant about having me make orange chicken that would remind me him Chinese take-out, though, and I couldn’t let him down! I honestly can’t emphasize how good this orange chicken is. Your ingredients. Mix together the chicken, egg, salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon of canola or vegetable oil, then add in 1/2 cup of cornstarch and 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. Heat enough vegetable or canola oil in a pot or a wok (about an inch deep in the pot) for about 5 minutes over high heat. Turn the heat to medium-high and fry the chicken in small batches so it cooks evenly. Remove the chicken from the oil with a slotted spoon and allow to drain on a paper towel until ready to use. In one more bowl, zest your orange. Restaurant Style Orange Chicken

Perfect Iced Coffee « ~ Mary ~ Aaaahhh summer! We are back in its suffocating grip, when the only thing that brings comfort is something cold. I mostly like the A/C and get fussy when John suggests we go somewhere. That means I have to actually go outside and experience the misery. It’s kind of funny because I used to WORSHIP the sun……….you can laugh now. Here’s a recipe for iced coffee that’s PERFECT in every way. Brew a FULL pot of coffee. Fill a couple of ice cube trays with coffee. Leave the rest of the pot of coffee on counter to cool then store in fridge. When you’re ready, fill a glass with your coffee ice cubes. Pour 2/3 rds full with coffee and the rest with milk of your choice. Pour in your milk or cream of choice. Put in sweetner of choice – it usually takes double the amount you use, only because you’re probably using a larger glass than your normal coffee mug. Give it a good stir. If you’re feeling sassy put in a straw and ENJOY! Like this: Like Loading...

Brazilian Lemonade This is my most favorite drink. Ever. Maybe I’d feel differently if I drank (as in alcohol), but there is nothing I love more than a warm, breezy afternoon and a pitcher of Brazilian lemonade. I didn’t try it for a long, long time because I was very put off by putting sweetened condensed milk in with citrus fruit. It starts off with fresh, juicy limes. You pop them in a blender with some sugar water and pulse just a few times. Pour the mixture from the blender through a strainer and into a pitcher, thus saving all of the flavorful liquid. Then the secret ingredient: sweetened condensed milk. Brazilian LemonadeOur Best Bites Ingredients: 4 juicy limes (try and find ones with thin, smooth skins; they’re the juiciest and the thin skin cuts down on the chance of your drink being bitter) 1 c. sugar 6 c. cold water 6 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk Instructions: Mix cold water and sugar very well and chill until ready to use. Place 1/2 of the limes in your blender.

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits Recipe This recipe was originally published on May 7, 2007. Updated with new photos. This Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits recipe has been pinned 83,000 times! With the recent news that Red Lobster might be closing its door forever, I thought many people would love to have the recipe. Truth be told, I am a food snob. I shun away from chain restaurants—Cheesecake Factory, nah; The Olive Garden, meh; Denny’s, are you kidding me?! I avoid going to franchise or chain restaurants at all cost, well, unless I am starving or stuck in the middle of nowhere and the only restaurant in town is Applebee’s. However, I have to admit that there is an exception. Yep, you heard it right—those fluffy-cheesy-buttery-garlicky-fresh-off-the-oven world famous Red Lobster biscuits. Wait a minute, didn’t I just proclaim that I don’t do chain restaurants? I made them, well, after hours of Googling for the secret and copycat recipe of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits on the internet.
