A Spooky Lot! Friday 5:00am: I’m rolling into the lot of ‘ol Citizen’s Cab. It’s a dark and scary lot…. It’s Halloweeeen! The powers say we’re supposed to have a tenth of an inch of rain during the Giants parade today. Even at this early hour, I could see that traffic – while driving to work in my van – was already getting antsy. So yeah, I’m at the lot now. It’s a full scene back here and ‘ol Koj looks pretty busy. Dev’s relatively new to dispatch. Anyway, due to the frenetic scene, I go over and grab 137’s key and medallion from the peg board myself. I wish all the troops a good day and I, um… slither out. On the way to 137, I catch Wally – a long grey-haired night driver, heading out on his bike. I spot 137 from all the way across the lot – a lot full of unused cabs in this new gilded age of unregulated “rideshares”. 137’s easy to pick out amongst the throngs, though. I pass the alpha black lot cat while heading over to my cab. I felt kinda bad. OoOoOoMMMmm. But, hmm. Oops. So, it’s today. Jeez. And,

Flaneur Magazine | Blog »Rome is so boring, Rome is so dry.« Architectural performance group LAC, ATI and Stalker believe the answer to Rome’s future is the transformation of the ancient ruin Largo Argentina (located on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II) into a lake. Let the Romans swim! Let Romans touch their history instead of viewing it from afar! After several brainstorming sessions (scuba diving gear, crabs and safety floats being mentioned) Flaneur and the performers/architects met by the ruin armed with flyers, posters, empty vessels for collecting water and a model of the ruin-turned-lake including live gold fish. Through skills of persuasion we got passer-byers to sign petitions noting down how much water they are willing to donate, then as a symbolic start to the controversial transformation every petitioner had to take water from a fountain and pour it into the ruin. The performance will be featured in Issue 04 and a video will be online shortly.
