Interactive Fraction Wall explore Fractions Percentages and Decimals
Fraction walls are a great way to teach about fractions and in particular equivalent fractions. In a fraction wall each row or layer of the wall represents one whole number. The layers are divided into a number of bricks and hence each brick represents a fraction whose denominator is equal to the number of bricks in that layer. Each brick can be turned on or off by clicking it. This wall also allows the display of decimal and percentage values. Selecting different walls When you launch this interactive teaching program the initial wall is a mixed one showing 3 distinct fraction families. Fractions, decimals or percentages Use the display type control to display decimals (rounded to 2dp), percentages (rounded to 1dp), fractions or none. Une horloge interactive en Flash Il y a peu de temps, j’écrivais un article sur les ressources informatiques pour l’apprentissage de l’heure et je vous présentais deux horloges interactives. C’est alors que m’est venue l’idée de réaliser une horloge interactive en flash en y apportant quelques fonctionnalités « maison ». Aujourd’hui, après quelques heures de réflexion et de programmation, voici un premier jet de cette horloge interactive que je vous propose de télécharger et d’essayer avec vos élèves. L’horloge interne L’application se divise en deux volets distincts: d’une part l’horloge interne qui permet aux jeunes enfants d’observer une horloge analogique et une horloge digitale toutes deux synchronisées sur l’horloge interne de l’ordinateur. Playdough Geometry: Exploring Shapes | School Time Snippets
I love making learning fun in our homeschool...I try anyways! In an effort to do that, I find myself online a lot looking for inspiration. My search led me to TeachersPayTeachers where I found some cute printable shapes cards. And I decided right then we had to use them! You just need a few materials and you are ready for some hands-on geometry exploring shapes for your preschooler or elementary aged student! post may contain affiliate links. Supplies: craft sticksplay doughshape cards Using play dough and craft sticks is a great hands-on way to explore geometry-- the study of shapes, lines, and patterns! Great for fine motor skills, too! Grab a tub or two of play dough and a stash of craft sticks {ours came from CraftProjectIdeas}. Start with one of the shape cards and manipulate the playdough to make several balls. Next add in the craft sticks and continue until your shape is made! I worked on some basic shapes with Little Sis-- the triangle, square, and rhombus. Pretty cool!
