IDEC@INTERNET - IDEC@EUDEC 2016, June 6th - 10th IDEC@EUDEC 2016, June 6th – 10th IDEC@EUDEC 2016, We Are The School, is the 24th IDEC, but it is the first one with significant online components. We’re organizing an immersive online experience for anyone who cannot make it to the conference, but still wants to participate in some way and for all the conference participants to prepare for the conference and to discuss topics afterwards. We will organize several online events The first event was on 27th Feb 2016, an online Open Space event. The second event on 2nd April between 12 AM – 5 PM will be directed at Finnish teachers with the theme “Participation in Schools”. The online events will be in Adobe Connect, Skype and TeamSpeak. We will gladly receive feedback about these events.

Listening Practicing Effective Questioning There are many ways to ask a question and some ways are better than others. Thinking about the types of questions that could be asked or even preparing specific questions prior to teaching a lesson will often lead to more effective classroom discussions. It is important to think of thoughtful questions that encourage students to think critically about the concept being learned. In order to be successful at effectively questioning students, teachers must be aware of the type of questions they are directing to the students and use effective questioning practices. Suggestions for Effective Questioning Below is a list different types of questions. Ask students to seek out the evidence: What kind of evidence did you find? Learning is an active process.
