Free 3D Printable Files and Designs 2 Organovo - Bioprinting functional human tissue Fab Lab CEU laboratory Madrid El próximo sábado 1 de julio de 2014 en Fab 10 estaremos presentes en Fab 10 (el congreso mundial de Laboratorios de Fabricación Digital) con una charla: Digital Fabrication for Architectural Design The talk aims to show how digital fabrication is modifying and implementing architectural design processes nowadays, through a graphic presentation which displays projects that are carried out in Fab Lab CEU, the Digital Fabrication Laboratory of CEU San Pablo University. The objective is not focused on the exhibition of projects that students develop in classes, but in the explanation of the processes that are conducted in the Fab Lab, allowing students to improve or implement their architectural designs thanks to the use of the digital culture (new technologies or advanced technological languages).
Interactive Design Tools for the Maker Movement - Microsoft Research My group’s research in Human-Computer Interaction focuses on design, prototyping and implementation tools for the era of ubiquitous embedded computing and digital fabrication. We focus especially on supporting the growing ranks of amateur designers and engineers in the Maker Movement. Over the past decade, a resurgence in interest how the artifacts in our world are designed, engineered and fabricated has led to new approaches for teaching art and engineering; new methods for creating artifacts for personal use; and new models for launching hardware products. The Maker Movement is enabled by a confluence of new technologies like digital fabrication and a sharing ethos built around online tutorials and open source design files. A crucial missing building block are appropriate design tools that enable Makers to translate their intent into appropriate machine instructions – whether code or 3D prints.
This a mini maker faire located in Barcelona. FabLab in Madrid El pasado mes de Marzo se inauguró en nuestra escuela el laboratorio de fabricación digital Etsidi Ingenia Madrid. En este artículo os resolveremos todas las dudas acerca de su creación, su uso y su futuro. Fab Lab es el acrónimo de “Fabrication Laboratory” y a grandes rasgos es un taller 2.0 donde producir todo tipo de diseños mediante máquinas controladas por ordenador, las denominadas CNC. Este concepto nació en el MIT (Massachussets Institute of Technology) con el fin de encontrar una vía para relacionar la fabricación de productos con cualquier persona de manera sencilla y directa gracias a la tecnología. FabLab Etsidi Ingenia Madrid nace tras conocer la enorme repercusión de este tipo de laboratorios en la sociedad, con el entusiasmo de poder sumar su granito de arena a esta nueva revolución industrial.
