The Ear, Michaël Borremans João Queiroz (1957) Dos quatro é o único português. João Queiroz

Kurt Hentschlager Cathy Hegman Art and Life | Art and Life…the lines and marks that connect and form existence Up Magazine – TAP Portugal » Michael Biberstein — Swiss One of the most important foreign artists living in Portugal chose the Alentejo as his home. Biberbstein explores the landscape on canvas and much more. His friend, film director Fernando Lopes, talks about him. “My friend Mike is half Swiss, half American. “In Fonte Santa, between Redondo and Alandroal, at the heart of the Alentejo, he has a studio, which is an enormous hangar where we made this film. [DDET Read More] Nuno Faria, art critic from the Centre of Modern Art at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, sums up the career and importance of Biberstein’s work: “Born in Solothurn, in Switzerland, in 1948, Michael Biberstein has lived and worked in Portugal for around two decades. The serenity of the Alentejo is, without doubt, as much interior as it is exterior for this artist. And so, in view of this, director Fernando Lopes went in search of Biberstein’s work. www.michaelbiberstein.com Cristina Guerra Gallery, www.cristinaguerra.com O Meu Amigo Mike ao Trabalho, Midas Filmes,

CHRISTIAN HETZEL Wolfgang Bloch | COTW Surf Artist California and Ecuador Laguna Beach, California (Ecuadorian) Article by Mike Stice from the Laguna Art Museum. If it was up to Wolfgang Bloch, what you are reading would be printed on post-consumer waste recycled and process chlorine free (PCW and PCF) matte paper. In the presence of any of Wolfgang's work, his talent is pronounced and right there at the surface for all to see. Born forty-three years ago in Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city, Bloch speaks today with an acute immediacy of (and a fond longing for) his childhood steeped in the rich and impassioned essence of Latin American culture. At the age of twelve, Bloch and his friends discovered the joy of surfing and, along with it, another place that would serve as a perennial source of sanctity and inspiration: the ocean and its environs.
