Geek Sucks - Design Inspiration Blog How To Make It More Difficult for a Thief To Turn Off Location Services on the iPad Over the last few years there have been numerous happy ending stories about lost / stolen iPads and iPhones recovered thanks to Location Services and the Find My iPhone app within MobileMe. The app is now free as well, so it’s a great tool to have just in case your iPad or iPhone is ever misplaced or stolen. In order for Find My iPhone to work, Location Services must be turned on on the missing device; and many people have pointed out that a tech-savvy thief might quickly turn off the service once they get their hands on your iDevice. Luckily, there’s a way to make that a much bigger challenge for a thief, and it’s simple to implement. It Happened to Me: My Boyfriend Died He drank Mountain Dew Code Red. His favorite piece of clothing was a Dallas Cowboys T-shirt, because he was born in Texas. He used American Crew hair gel. He drove a red convertible. He died on his 26th birthday. These are the pieces of a life, and a love, you won’t find in an obituary. At 22, I was a nervous, anxious wreck. And so it came to pass that in March 1999, I met a very beautiful boy with black hair and blue eyes underneath the Macy’s men’s store sign on the corner of 34th Street and Seventh Avenue. I got a call at work on February 25, 2002, that I needed to get uptown to the hospital as quickly as I could.
