Django Django is a widely-used Python web application framework with a "batteries-included" philosophy. The principle behind batteries-included is that the common functionality for building web applications should come with the framework instead of as separate libraries. For example, authentication, URL routing, a templating system, an object-relational mapper (ORM), and database schema migrations (as of version 1.7) are all included with the Django framework. Compare that included functionality to the Flask framework which requires a separate library such as Flask-Login to perform user authentication.

The Value of Data, Part 1: Using Data as a Competitive Advantage · Coding VC 27 Feb 2015 Data is incredibly valuable. It helps create superior products, it forms a barrier to entry, and it can be directly monetized. This post is the first in a 3-part series about building companies that leverage the value of data. linear-gradient The CSS linear-gradient() function creates an <image> which represents a linear gradient of colors. The result of this function is an object of the CSS <gradient> data type. Like any other gradient, a CSS linear gradient is not a CSS <color> but an image with no intrinsic dimensions; that is, it has neither natural or preferred size, nor ratio. Its concrete size will match the size of the element it applies to. Linear gradients are defined by an axis, the gradient line, with each point on it being of a different color.

How you can learn to program: web development resources As promised many moons ago, I’ll sum up what courses, books, and websites have been most helpful to me, as well as some that I’ve heard great things about within the web development community. A quick note on costs: I learned how to program on a budget, so I can certainly empathize with people who don’t want to break the bank without proof that they can get a job doing this stuff when they’re done studying. Most of the resources I list here are relatively cheap and require only a one-time investment. However, there are a few subscription-based resources that can start to add up if you enroll for a few months. If you’re like me when I started, you’ll look at the overflowing abundance of programming information available and wonder why anyone would ever pay money for any of this stuff. If you have the means to afford some of the more costly resources, I’d encourage you to drop the mindset that learning should always be free.
