Webinar on Open Badges Is there a future for Open Badges? Webinar on 26 November 2015 at 10.00 AM CET Sales pitch Physics for Kids: Basics of Sound Science >> Physics for Kids Sound is a vibration, or wave, that travels through matter (solid, liquid, or gas) and can be heard. How does sound move or propagate? The vibration is started by some mechanical movement, such as someone plucking a guitar string or knocking on a door. This causes a vibration on the molecules next to the mechanical event (i.e. where your hand hit the door when knocking). When these molecules vibrate, they in turn cause the molecules around them to vibrate. The vibration will spread from molecule to molecule causing the sound to travel.

Scratch controlling Minecraft – Cymplecy (Simplesi) If you have another computer that can run Scratch 1.4 that is networked with a Raspberry Pi , then you can use it to interact with the Minecraft world on the Pi. You’l need to find out the IP address of your other computer – for this exercise I’ll assume its so you’ll need to substitute your real address To do this, run ScratchGPIO on your Pi and add On Green Flag – broadcast Connect10.11.12.13 This hands over ScratchGPIO control to your main computer So run up Scratch 1.4 on your main computer and enable Remote Sensor Connections (RSC) by right-clicking on the last Sensor block and enabling it. Go back onto your Pi, and launch Minecraft and create a new world.

Steve Lambert Is email a distraction? SelfControl is an OS X application which blocks access to incoming and/or outgoing mail servers and websites for a predetermined period of time. For example, you could block access to your email, facebook, and twitter for 90 minutes, but still have access to the rest of the web. Once started, it can not be undone by the application, by deleting the application, or by restarting the computer – you must wait for the timer to run out. Created while at Eyebeam Center for Art and Technology. Thanks to Charlie Stigler for developing the application. Fun Facts for Kids on Animals, Earth, History and more! Sample Projects - App Inventor for Android with Studio-Based Learning These are some of the projects that my students created using App Inventor for Android within a Studio-Based Learning environment. All of these were created at Ball State University in Fall 2009, as part of the experimental CS116 section. These students collaborated on the course site that explains these projects and others in the students own words. The projects were created with the pre-release version of App Inventor for Android and can no longer be downloaded and executed; however, they are still a good indication of the breadth and depth of projects made possible with this technology.

Great idea,it would be fantástico to see your work with them, can u show me your blog or site? Thanks in advance. by inmitacs Mar 31
