this house was love at first foot in the door… Jamie Laubhan-Oliver and her husband Larry Oliver are two of the most talented people I’ve ever known. Jamie is an art director for DHome/DWeddings and Larry is a senior designer for Neiman Marcus. They are both art directors and spend much of their days orchestrating amazing photoshoots. Each detail of their home is so interesting: from the alligator skull, to the collection of keys from Jamie’s father mixed with the heap of wine corks, and an armless baby doll. Don’t get me wrong…these two have got their fair share of Jonathan Adler and other notable fancies by their ability to mix it all up so well is a gift. I have to tell you that one of the other endearing qualities about this couple is their peculiar side. Last cool tidbit, the ceramic phonograph in the middle photo hooks up to your earbuds from your iPod. This is my kind of interior — a collection of details and pieces you love. Thank you Jamie and Larry!!

New Classic Style Loft in France Living in a textile factory sounds absurd, doesn’t it? But take one look at this swanky loft and you’ll change your mind. What now looks like the perfect home was once a textile mill. For those in disbelief, the ceilings can give you clues. There are absolutely no inklings of the remnants of an industrial area here but that is the beauty of the place. The house is lively and everything that has been included just adds to its charm! Beautiful French Country House Presumably the workplace of an artist and the home of a creative soul, this beautiful French country house is a treat for those with a keen eye. Or those who enjoy the revitalizing mix of nature and the human mind. Cocooned in natural surroundings, this house has a rustic, pristine and a raw feel to it. Semi-clad in luxury, this French cottage is a dream home for many. With the option of working indoors and outdoors, the house inspires vision. A deliberate ancient touch is given to a few items that make the surreal feeling of ‘living in the years long forgotten’ very real. The place would lodge an artist’s painting atelier and was under redecoration for over 10 years by the architect himself. The present project came to life due to several problems found in the building such as electricity mains and rewiring, wall cracks and seepage. Within a month, all wall coatings were removed and rebuilt whilst the architect decided to build a brick table and couch. Not only is the table used to hold books and collections but it is also a place to work and eat at, while the couch stands from wall to wall and has two black fabric mattresses. The resident’s bedroom bears resemblance to a loft, with a warmer atmosphere compared to the rest of the house due to the exposed brick wall at the top of the bed. Four Story Townhouse With Very Cosy Interior Design – 5th Street by TBHC The renovation of this 4 story townhouse in center Park Slope is one of the first projects by The Brooklyn Home Company. It’s a great example how cool could be combination of vintage and modern elements in the one interior. The main color theme in this interior is a combination of white and natural wood of different hues. It works very well and everything looks very cosy and livable. The home is flooded with natural light through double hung windows. The interior also features such interesting things as sculptures by Fitzhugh Karol, a lot of built-ins and custom work, rough wood shelves and doors, and so on. contemporary townhouse, cosy house, cosy house design, cosy interior design, cozy house, cozy house design, cozy interior design, TBHC, The Brooklyn Home Company, townhouse designs

Bedroom I've been busy designing a project that installs at the end of the month (a model home) and am working on bedding at this very moment. Finding myself hitting a "creativity" roadblock, I decided jump online to hopefully spark some fresh ideas. After analyzing bedroom after bedroom, I've come to the conclusion that pretty much anything goes when it comes to bedding...as long as the fabrics somehow coordinate, you can pull almost anything off! Headboards definitely add something special to the overall look of a bed, but if that isn't an option, wallpaper or accent paint are just as great to really make everything pop. I love very minimal bedding but also have a weakness for lots of pillows and texture! What do you prefer when it comes dressing the bed? Pattern play - a great mix against a crisp white headboard Lots of pillows and layered textures An eclectic mix of pattern and color Bold graphic prints accented with crisp white and pops of coral The printed headboard allows for simple bedding

Canopy Living: The Ultimate Tree House Dec 1, 2009 There’s the tree house your Dad built for you in the backyard, and then there’s the tree house Robert Harvey Oshatz built in the forests of Portland, Oregon. Designed in 1997 and completed in 2004, the Wilkinson Residence is in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Built on a steep sloping lot, the living space resides amongst the forest canopy, making your morning coffee most enjoyable. With more curves than Lombard Street, the Wilkinson Residence is a property you have to see to believe. Description from the architect: Robert Harvey Oshatz A lover of music, the client wanted a house that not only became part of the natural landscape but also addressed the flow of music.
