Blog Archive » In Progress » BergeLuther » Discoloration and Burned Out Modern Car Progress continues on the BergeLuther. I’ve applied the oil discoloration using the 502 Abteilung oils paints. This time I used the colors German Gray Highlight + Faded Navy Blue, Light Rust, Dark Mud and UN Faded White. These were dabbed on as usual then blended in with clean odorless turpenoid. I also began work on the Mig Productions Burned Out Modern Car kit which arrived a few days ago. After priming the kit with self-etching primer I followed up with a coat of flat black spraypaint. Over this base coat I used cheapie acrylics and stippled on yellow, brown, gray, blue and red with a damp sponge. Over this stippled coat I sprayed a flat layer of FFA to seal the base coats. After the hairspray dried I sprayed on some neutral gray, white, then a light mint color for that “classic” car feel. I removed the salt by rubbing and with water and a brush removing some of the hairspray layer as well to re-expose the rust. And speaking of debris, here’s the start of my base for the Berge.

Galaxy Trucker | Board Game In a galaxy far, far away... they need sewer systems, too. Corporation Incorporated builds them. Everyone knows their drivers -- the brave men and women who fear no danger and would, if the pay was good enough, even fly through Hell. Now you can join them. You will gain access to prefabricated spaceship components cleverly made from sewer pipes. Of course you can. Galaxy Trucker is a tile laying game that plays out over two phases: building and flying. Building happens in real time and has players build their personal space ships by grabbing tiles from the middle of the table before the timer runs out. Once building is completed, and ships have been checked for errors, the flight begins. Most of the cards will cause players to move back on the flight track and they must decide if the delay is worth their efforts. 3 rounds of this are done, and in each round players get a bigger board to build a ship that can hold more components.

I started this project out mentally as another Martian Hovertank like my prior one… gathered all the parts I’ve been stashing for it then somehow used none of those parts and decided to add wheels and a suspension and a lack of curves. Seriously… I am not sure how this came about. HAHAHA! The Armored Dune Hopper (ADH) is an armored recon vehicle for use in desert environments. First I constructed a frame using square tubing.
