Use canned responses in Google Groups - Groups Help Canned responses allow you to compose a response and reuse it in your group as many times as you'd like. This can be a great time saver if you frequently find yourself posting the same thing. You can create and save as many canned responses as you like and give each one a descriptive title to make finding it later quick and easy. Setup First, enable canned responses for your account on Google Groups. Create or edit a canned response Start a reply or new post. Use your canned response Start a reply or new post. Week3 Activity Step1 Explore Capture Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds ShowMe - The Online Learning Community (iPad) 10 Things Every Teacher Should be able to do on Google Docs Google Docs is a powerful word processing tool that many schools have adopted. As it’s similar to Microsoft Word and other word processing tools, most of its features are intuitive to use. However, in addition to completing many of the functions of a traditional word processor, Google Docs provides even more capabilities that can be invaluable to educators. Here are ten tricks that can make your life easier with Google Docs: Share & Collaborate with Google Docs One of the most powerful features of Google Docs is that you can share and collaborate on documents with others. Sharing with individuals is relatively easy. Comments And Suggested Edits Sometimes, you don’t want to make changes on a document. Others can reply to your comments when they make changes or ask for clarification. Revision History One of my favorite tools in Google Docs is “Revision History.” Add-Ons Recently, Google released a suite of “Add-ons.” Leave Voice Comments Sometimes written comments are not enough. Movenote Week3 Activity Step3 Report Capture Welcome to RoboMind.net, the new way to learn programming Two New Apps That Are Great for Recording Audio Interviews This week I tested two new apps for recording audio interviews. Both of these apps can be used by students without creating any kind of new online accounts. Neither one is entirely perfect, but they're both quite good. Opinion is a free iPad app for creating short audio recordings. To record simply open the app and tap the big red recording button at the top of the screen. When you're done talking, tap the recording button again to stop the recording. StoryCorps has a new app called StoryCorps.me that Larry Ferlazzo raved about earlier this week. StoryCorps.me is designed to help people conduct and record great interviews. Applications for Education The Opinion app could be a good choice if you just want students quickly create a simple recording. StoryCorps.me will take a little more time for students to set-up than they will spend setting-up the Opinion app.
