Game Reviews, Gaming Facts Victoria II Why Is Dota 2 The Biggest Game On Steam? By Michael Cohen on September 11th, 2013 at 5:00 pm. This is the first part in a new series looking at contemporary multiplayer gaming and the e-sports phenomenon. Since Steam’s inception, just a handful of marvellous gems have topped the Steam Stats page. Games like Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2 and Sid Meier’s Civilization V have earned accolades, snared players in their thousands, and then hovered around the 50,000 mark. More users play Dota 2 simultaneously than the nine other ranked games combined and it is only going up from there. In essence, ARTS stands for Arena Real-Time Strategy game, which is a brief description of the elements of this offshoot of the strategy genre. Though the concept is simple, the amount of knowledge about the game, the mechanics, each heroes’ capabilities, limitations, exceptions, and strengths can be overwhelming. It’s almost as if you were at home with your friend watching him or her play! New people are getting interested all the time.

soft Crusader Kings 2 How A Single Patch Can Shake The Dota 2 Trading Market By Cassandra Khaw on November 19th, 2013 at 7:00 pm. “Do you want a scoop?” “Yes.” That didn’t seem sufficient. An emoticon — X and D get a lot of mileage from me — gets stapled on. Jing is my primary contact in the sometimes seedy world of Dota 2 trading. We start with the pleasantries. Exclusivity is a big, big thing for the Dota 2 trading scene, so big that even silliness like a cowboy outfit for a razor-clawed bear can skyrocket in value due to discontinuation. But even the gilded, vicarious glory of the immortal[1] Golden Baby Roshans pales in comparison to ‘Legacy’[2] couriers. Previously, effect and colour were immutable attributes, chiselled onto couriers like Chihuahuas onto Paris Hilton’s fashion sense. “That $38,000 courier is probably worth less than $4000 now,” Derby, a seasoned Dota 2 trader, remarks flippantly. While the vast majority of players seemed enthused about the curve ball Valve threw, a small division of traders took to their pitchforks. (Source: Dota 2 wiki)

Interactive Games Shop iOS Board Games App News Hearthstone Getting Naxxramas ExpansionSo, I'm going through Twitter this morning and some strange guy, who's apparently at this little thing called PAX East, tweeted something that made me nearly spit out my coffee. Curse of Naxxramas Adventure expansion announced for @PlayHearthstone. 30 new cards and a new adventure mode #PAXEast— iOS Board Games (@iosboardgames) April 11, 2014 Expansion for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft? Hearthstone launching on iPad worldwide "in one to two weeks" #PAXEast— iOS Board Games (@iosboardgames) April 11, 2014 At this point it became far too weird, so I left Twitter and went to investigate on my own. No idea when the expansion will release (this is Blizzard, after all), but we have a pretty good insight of what to expect. 30 new cards and a single-player campaign through the dungeon of Naxxramas in which you will gain new cards and fight some of the bosses from World of Warcraft. Because PAX is going on, they've also cut the price tag.

Merchants & Marauders : A Game Review | Starlit Citadel March 3rd, 2011 Posted in reviews Merchants & Marauders is the latest in a small line of pirate games. There just aren’t that many to pick from – Jamaica, Blackbeard and Pirate’s Cove are the only serious pirate games that come to mind. Of the group, Merchants & Marauders stands out for it’s high replay value and overall fun gameplay. Appearance: Merchants & Marauders is made by ZMan Games and it comes with some great components. A ton of miniature ships, lots of cards, multiple player boards and one huge game board depicting the Carribean Island’s all come in high quality detail. Rules / Ease of Learning: Merchants & Marauders has quite a heavy rulebook; with multiple areas to cover – from actions in a turn to three forms of combat (Merchant Raids, NPC/Player Ship combat & Boarding Combat). To summarise the game, each turn a new event card is drawn. Gameplay: Merchants & Marauders is a solid game, with a lot to offer gamers. Related Posts:
