Lutradur - FibreDK: techniques for using art materials, textile supplies and craft products from Art Van Go, Hertfordshire. A non-woven spun polyester fabric that can be used for so many effects FibreDK is smooth, robust surface that takes colour well, cuts easily without fraying (like paper) and can be layered without unnecessary bulk. FibreDK is polyester so most dyes will not work. Colour it with pigment-based paints such as Liquitex or Golden acrylics, Jacquard Textile Paints, Jacquard Dye-na-Flow, Markal Paintstiks, Treasure Gold, Jacquard Lumiere Paint, Metal Effects tarnishable metal paints etc Colour can be applied by painting, stencilling, printing etc FibreDK is a polyester so it will take transfer paints such as Deka Iron-on and Berol Transfer Paints, Disperse Dyes or transfer crayons.
Apply the colour to photocopy or layou paper (Disperse Dye powder will have to be mixed with water first to make it into an ink), place the dried paper face down onto FibreDK and iron on the back to transfer the colour/design.
