BioWare adopted a (sadly) very special and very principled stance in designing one of their recent games, Dragon Age 2. Their stance was simple: relationships are for everybody, whether gay, straight, or anything else in between. You can also have have more than one romance at a time with the game’s characters. In this game, everybody is equal. Too equal, it seems, for one particular straight male gamer who was upset to be on the receiving end of a little flirting from another male character in the game.

You may or may not know that I am red-green colorblind. Money looks grey to me, pink looks white, brown looks green. No big thing. Since I was born colorblind, I have no frame of reference for how the world is "supposed" to look and, therefore, I'm not constantly in a state of misery and woe over the fact that I can't differentiate maroon from purple. If anything, colorblindness works as a great ice breaker at parties. But what of how it relates to my favorite pastime, videogames?

Keeton is a student at Augusta State University, who decided it was possible to pursue a career as a school counselor without ever having to deal with LGBT students. Turns out you kind of have to, Keeton didn't want to, and she was told to straighten up and fly right or pursue her courses at another college. So she did what any fine upstanding Republican would do, she filed a frivolous lawsuit defending her right to live in a world of her own imagining. One of my friends was having some woman troubles at the time, so somewhere along the line the conversation arrived upon the female sex, and their various gender specific attributes.
