The Special Zone for Asian Headquarters The zone consists of certain areas in central Tokyo where the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is implementing a new project to attract foreign companies. Companies locating in this zone can benefit from deregulation, generous tax treatment, and comprehensive fiscal and financial support. By 2016, the plan is to have at least 500 foreign companies operating in the zone, with 50 or more establishing their Asian regional headquarters or R&D centers here.
