Workouts. 43 Ways to Level Up Your Life, Starting Right Now. Today, you’re going to level up your life. If you’re anything like me, you’re big on the whole “come up with ideas” part of life and slightly lacking in the “JUST DO IT” part. You’ve told yourself for days, weeks, months, years that you’re going to get in shape one day – enough with the excuses, procrastination, and delays. It’s time for action! Here are 43 different ways to improve your life right now. I’m a huge fan of momentum, and I’m confident that picking a thing or two off of this list and following through with it could help you turn that little snowball of yours into an avalanche of awesome.

While most of these are fitness related, some have nothing to do with fitness but will help you either feel better, look better, or help make this world a slightly better place. Let’s do this! 1) Write down everything you eat today. 2) Eat less. 3) Try a new vegetable. 4) Stop slouching! 5) Write down three goals. 6) Stop drinking soda. 7) Start lifting weights. 10) Drink more water. 32) Run. I received an email a few months back from a NF reader that made me smile: “I am going back to square one. I noticed the only habit that I changed and stuck with was drinking tons of water. Have you ever started playing a game and get a few hours in and go “man I wish I knew these controls/tips from the beginning”? So you restart and the game just feels easier from that point on. You start finding items that you missed before. I’m restarting my journey now that I have a better idea of the controls.” This resonated with me, because when I first played EverQuest (similar to World of Warcraft), the first character I created was terrible. When I started again playing as a new character, I FLEW through the first 30 levels: I understood the controls, how the game worked, and what needed to get done; it was much easier the second time through! The same is true for any boss battle you first encounter in any game. Getting in shape is no different.

The Zen of Ear Training – Part 1. By Evan Kepner An important part of every musician’s evolution is ear training. It’s a strange concept, but becoming an active and educated listener pays off in a huge way. First lets cover a few points about what ear training is and isn’t and then we’ll get to the exercises. Ear training is a broad term used to cover two aural developmental practices – perfect pitch and relative pitch. Ear training will not diminish your ability to enjoy music. I’ll admit that ear training is difficult for me. Finally, why bother? For this lesson the exercises are very sequential. Exercise 1: Sing a scale. Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do This is important though, you have to be able to sing these tones in key.

Exercise 2: Once you feel comfortable that you can sing a scale in tune, focus on each interval. Do Re Do Re Do Re Do Re Do Re Doing it over such a long interval is important, you need to really let your ears soak in each tone. Exercise 3: Remember this is all about development, which happens slowly. Top 42 Exercise Hacks.

How you feel after a workout. 16 Tips to Triple Your Workout Effectiveness. Post written by Leo Babauta. You don’t want to spend long hours at the gym, but you want to get stronger, fitter, leaner, and just plain look good. It’s possible that you’re not getting the most out of your workout time.

It’s possible to get a super-effective workout in 30 minutes, and only do a few workouts a week, if you maximize your workouts. Disclaimer: First, I’m not a certified trainer. These are tips I’ve read elsewhere that work well for me. Second, you should always get a doctor’s approval of any new workout plan. This plan is especially intense, so if you have a heart condition or other condition that might be affected by heavy exercise, you should definitely refrain from trying it until you’ve gotten checked out by a doctor. And even if you have gotten checked out, or even if you don’t bother doing so, it’s still important to start out an exercise program slowly, until your body has the chance to adjust, or you will face burnout or injury. Limit your workouts to 30-40 minutes.

8 Reasons Your Weight Training Results Suck. If I had to guess, I'd estimate that for every person who has been weight training and getting good results, there's probably about 50 other people whose results absolutely suck. Some will give it a try for a certain period of time, get no where, and then give up for good. Others will do the same, only they'll periodically try again, get the same sucky results, and quit only to repeat this all over again every few months or years (or annually as part of their New Year's Resolution). The rest have all of the dedication in the world and will never give up. Instead, they'll consistently get virtually no where... forever. That last one sounds familiar to me because, well, it was me.

If any of the above sounds familiar to you, I have good news. Here's what I feel are the 8 most common reasons your weight training results suck right now, have sucked in the past, or will suck at some point in the future. #1: Your progression sucks. The next month or two of work on Xanga 2.0 is going to be busy, so I wanted to share with everyone a roadmap of how we’re thinking about things!

We’re dividing the work on this project into four basic phases. Phase 1. Data migration As described here, we’ve imported over every account that we have on Xanga over to the new system so that anyone who could sign into Xanga can still sign into Xanga 2.0. (Try it here!) We’ve also imported over everyone’s subscribers and friends, so that if somebody was subscribed or friended to you on the old system, they’re now following you on the new one too. And f you had turned on privacy features like friends lock, then we imported that over as well. Finally and most important of all, we’ve imported over 2 million blogs from the old system. And of course, a lot of you guys archived your own blogs using the old Xanga archive generator.

We”ve just finished the core of Phase 1 tonight, and will commence with Phase 2 upon launching the site! Phase 2. Love Handles - How to Get Rid of Them. Love handles. Ah yes....the affectionate term given to that flabby area on the sides of your abdomen that you can't seem to get rid of. The anatomic term for them is "obliques" and unfortunately this area of the body is often neglected when it comes to exercising the stomach and ab areas. Again, I cannot stress enough that you have to start with long-duration aerobic exercise if you want to trim any part of your stomach. Spot toning will prove ineffective because you need to raise your metabolism enough to burn that extra love handle fat. Remember, it's all about total body fitness and losing weight all over. If you've been reading this site, you're probably tired of me mentioning that, but that is the #1 misconception about stomach toning. You have to get your entire body into shape before you start seeing results.
