If you lived in a more rural area, it may not have happened often. But I remember finding money all the time when I was a kid. Not just coins—dollars! I can’t remember the last time this happened to me. Leading up to this serendipity, I was spending time with a friend of mine who also believes, as I do, that our attitude influences our destiny. After my visit with my friend, I went shopping in downtown Portland.
The next morning I went to a megastore where the lines at the checkout were mega-long. On my last stop of the morning, I went to a store that carries a type of gum I like that you can only get during the holidays. My life is charmed! Got a story to share? Monday's 2/2/2015 CHADD Meeting is Canceled Due to Extreme Weather in NY and Boston, where our speaker is flying from, Boston has still not fully dug out from their last major storm (the one we were supposed to get) and they are now expecting another 12-18" (and we are also expecting our own snowstorm) assuring closed airports in both directions. The good news is we have rescheduled this very important meeting for May 4th. More info will follow as we get closer to that date.

Provided below are the steps that you will need to embark upon in order to become an officially recognized CHADD chapter, satellite or branch. Step 1: Getting Started: The first step in becoming an official CHADD group is tell us that you are interested in volunteering for CHADD. In addition, please download, save and print the check list for future reference. Step 2: View our comprehensive online orientation: Please allow at least 20 minutes of time in order to participate in our online orientation. Step 3: Complete the forms and send them to CHADD National After reviewing the orientation, please complete all of the forms and submit them to CHADD. 26th Annual International Conference on ADHD. The CHADD Annual International Conference is the major research, practice and public information conference dedicated to ADHD. Conference sessions will focus on providing current science-based information and the impact of this information on treatments for individuals with ADHD. The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, educators, adults, parents, and others who are seeking more in-depth materials.
Major goals for the conference are to: Disseminate the latest developments in research; Facilitate an ongoing exchange about issues related to ADHD; Increase public understanding of the disorder and its impact, and Offer solutions and tactics to make life with ADHD easier to manage. Since 2006, the CHADD Parent to Parent Program has certified hundreds of parents, counselors, ADHD coaches, and more – to provide education and support to families affected by ADHD. Because of overwhelming response from trainers who have successfully completed the program, CHADD is now offering an opportunity for certified trainers to use CHADD’s successful business model to train others and make additional money for their ADHD businesses.
What does that mean? Simply – once you become a licensed partner, you can train families as part of your ADHD practice rather than as a volunteer for the first time. Guest blog by Max Wiznitzer, MD Newly published in JAMA Pediatrics, this is a study of mothers’ use of acetaminophen during pregnancy and the subsequent development of ADHD-like behavioral problems in their children. The data were taken from the Danish National Birth Cohort, which recorded information for sixty percent of pregnant women during the years 1996-2002, during and six months after pregnancy. Later, information was obtained about the mothers’ and fathers’ behavioral problems during childhood and about their children’s behavior, presence of hyperkinetic disorder (a form of ADHD), and stimulant prescriptions. The group of children numbered more than 40,000. What is the significance of this study?
