BRIDPORT DREAMING – Between Soil and Sea. This is a film about three people living in or around Bridport Dorset.
It is intended to be the first of 4 or 5 such films, which attempt to describe who rather than what people are. I believe that allowing people to speak for themselves about their concerns, ambitions and regrets is to share their humanity with the rest of us and that it is somehow healing. In this film, as the rest of this series, I wish to represent different cultures, classes, genders and ages without comment. Whatever lyricism is in the films arises from who the people are and from what they actually do in their lives. They're Singing Your Song. When a woman in a certain African tribe knows she is pregnant, she goes out into the wilderness with a few friends and together they pray and meditate until they hear the song of the child.
They recognize that every soul has its own vibration that expresses its unique flavor and purpose. When the women attune to the song, they sing it out loud. Foundation for Conscious Evolution. Conscious Evolution: A Matter of Collective Resolve. June 2012 “Do you think we will do it?”
This is a question that I am frequently asked when I speak about conscious evolution – the potential we have to transform ourselves and our institutions in time to avoid irreversible deterioration in our quality of life. I know we have all the ingredients to do the job, I tell them. What I don’t know, I add, is whether or not we have the collective will to do it.
