Sprinkled with Flour: Ritzy Halloween Spiders. Inspire co. This project is a part of Eileen Hull's super fun Sizzix Fresh Vintage Hop! Welcome, Hoppers! I had never really used a Sizzix Big Shot before but boy, oh boy, is this thing fun to use! It cuts through all sorts of things, including felt, matboard and chipboard! Maybe you guys already know about this, but, to me, this opens a whole new world of possibilities... These tiny suitcases are fabulously fun to make...I just covered the matboard front and back with decorative paper (using spray adhesive) and ran it through the machine.
This is what it came out looking like... Scored and cut...all you do to assemble is attach brads and glue in two places. I especially love the cupcake suitcase... Now I think these boxes would be perfect for surprising someone with a travel gift...a trip to NY, etc. But I also think it would be fun to outfit these tiny suitcases with craft supplies to give as gifts to friends at a crafting weekend... Something like this? P.s. Brownie Hearts and Brownie Bites. Candy Cane Marshmallow Pops. Scanning Twitter this morning I saw a tweet stating that Christmas Eve is just 10 days away. 10 days?? How could I not have realized that the day was drawing so close?
I still have packages to mail, cards to address, cookies to bake and holiday spirit to find. This year has been difficult for me to find that "Christmas" spirit, and frankly it doesn't really feel much like the holiday season. I guess living in San Diego might have a bit to do with it with our temperate weather, or perhaps it's the fact that Costco has had Christmas lights and trees for sale since August.
Whatever the reason, I'm just not feeling it. Liv, however, is quite the opposite. Yesterday we spent her day off from dance rehearsals preparing Peppermint Bark as well as these adorable Candy Cane Marshmallow Pops as treats for her friends at dance class. Watching her pop out of the car, candy cane striped socks up to her knees, she was instantly surrounded by a group of smiling girls as she passed out the treats.
