Tā top māja: Informācija: Foto: Running on Empty: 7 Tools to Heal Emotional Exhaustion. “We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved.

They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.” ~ Pema Chödrön “I’m so tired! I just want to close my eyes. The statement above is a common thread among those who are emotionally spent.

And the number of people who suffer from this is escalating at an alarming rate. This kind of tired is what happens when emotional trauma gets the upper hand. Emotional trauma is so disempowering that it causes physical symptoms. From my own experience and from conversations with others who have at one time or still suffer silently, I have seen how important it is to address this issue. Moving, death and divorce are supposedly the biggest causes of stress. I literally had no more room inside me. Detox. Advice from 30 year old me to 20 year old me. 11 things that I wish I knew when I was 20. I recently turned 30. For some very odd reason I’ve not warmed to the idea of it just yet. However as I began to evaluate my 20s I realised how many mistakes I’ve made and things I’ve learned in a decade of life. I took some time to write myself some advice. 1) Travel You have very little responsibility so go and travel. How do you know what you want to do if you don’t know what’s out there to do?

Don’t just travel to the obvious places. Travel to the tough places. Travel to learn. Travel to discover. Travel to the places that will challenge who you think you want to be. 2) Build things Don’t spend too much time working on other people’s visions or in other people’s meetings. Meetings are where ideas go to die.

If you find yourself in a corporate job that you wish you could leave then do it. 3) Read Read every day. 4) Stop Watching Television Right now. 5) Career Do not take that corporate job. 6) Trust Even if it kills your relationships. 7) People 9) Fail. I LIKE MYSELF. Hunter S. Thompson On Finding Your Purpose | Your Friend's House. In April of 1958, a 22 year-old Hunter S. Thompson wrote a letter on the meaning of life when asked by a friend for advice. What makes his response all the more profound is the fact that at the time, the world had no idea that he would become one of the most important writers of the 20th century.

Therefore his beliefs about purpose were hypothetical—they were statements of faith. But if it’s true that our beliefs really do become our reality, then there’s no better example of a life fully realised than the one of Hunter S. April 22, 1958 57 Perry Street New York City Dear Hume, You ask advice: ah, what a very human and very dangerous thing to do! I am not a fool, but I respect your sincerity in asking my advice. “To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles … ” (Shakespeare) And indeed, that IS the question: whether to float with the tide, or to swim for a goal. In 1967, John Lennon wrote a song called, “All You Need is Love.” He also beat both of his wives, abandoned one of his children, verbally abused his gay Jewish manager with homophobic and anti-semitic slurs, and once had a camera crew film him lying naked in his bed for an entire day. Thirty-five years later, Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails wrote a song called “Love is Not Enough.” Reznor, despite being famous for his shocking stage performances and his grotesque and disturbing videos, got clean from all drugs and alcohol, married one woman, had two children with her, and then cancelled entire albums and tours so that he could stay home and be a good husband and father.

One of these two men had a clear and realistic understanding of love. In our culture, many of us idealize love. When we believe that “all we need is love,” then like Lennon, we’re more likely to ignore fundamental values such as respect, humility and commitment towards the people we care about. 1. 2. 3. 300+ Mind Expanding Documentaries. Source: www.diygenius.com | Original Post Date: January 12, 2014 – I watch a lot of documentaries.

I think they are incredible tools for learning and increasing our awareness of important issues. The power of an interesting documentary is that it can open our minds to new possibilities and deepen our understanding of the world. On this list of mind expanding documentaries you will find different viewpoints, controversial opinions and even contradictory ideas. Critical thinking is recommended. I’m not a big fan of conspiracy documentaries but I do like films that challenge consensus reality and provoke us to question the everyday ideas, opinions and practices we usually take for granted.

Watching documentaries is one of my favorite methods of self-education. I hope you find these documentaries as enlightening as I did! Environmental Art for Interior Spaces: Local Artist Susie Frazier. We're thrilled to connect with Susie Frazier, Cleveland artist who engaged in sustainability even before it was cool. As the interview unfolds, you'll quickly realize that Susie's genuine passion for natural materials as early as childhood has sustained her impressive artistic life. gpidesign: Do you have a personal design philosophy that unifies your artistic creations, or does each piece have it's own inspiration and ideology? Susie Frazier: Anything designed under my brand, whether it’s fine art, home furnishings, or fashion accessories, is born from three guiding principles: The work has to be resourceful, natural and down to earth.

It’s not enough to transform organic or industrial elements into something new. Gpidesign: What inspired you to use nature as your artistic medium? Frazier: The idea of designing with cast-off materials is something that’s been a family tradition since I was a child growing up in the American Southwest. There’s a difference between knowing something and living as if it were true. At the end of 2013, these truths are all lingering on that awkward threshold, for me anyway. 1) The sooner you do something, the more of your life you get to spend with that thing done — even though it takes less effort (or at least no more) than it will later. It’s the ultimate sure-thing investment and I pass it up all the time. 2) I never regret working out.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve negotiated with myself to work out the next day instead of today because I’m worried it will be a “bad workout.” I seldom have a bad day on a day that I work out. 3) Whenever I’m playing with my phone I am only shortening my life. 4) Nothing makes me more productive and in-the-moment than a clean house. 5) Minute-for-minute, nothing I do is more rewarding than meditation. 6) Creative work is something that can be done at any time. 7) Acting the way you want to feel usually works.
