She has taught both preschool and infants/primary age children. Mandy has taught piano privately for 25 years, specialising in beginners to intermediate levels and obtained outstanding results. One to One Tuition Students are generally ready from 8 years of age to commence private lessons on their instrument of choice (or 6 years of age for strings and piano lessons).
Lessons are available on a weekly or fortnightly basis. For young children we recommend weekly lessons, building from half an hour up to one hour a week as the student progresses. Adult students who are more self-paced in their progress or are learning for personal enjoyment, may choose a fortnightly lesson. The Conservatorium runs roughly in parallel with the NSW Board of Studies term dates. Michaele Archer. Michaele has performed extensively nationally and internationally and has studied in New York with world renowned voice teacher, David Jones who works with singers at the Metropolitan Opera.
Michaele performed with Opera Australia in Turandot, Otello, and Werther and as a guest soloist in concert. Other roles include Emmie in Albert Herring (Opera Australia), Mrs Peachum in The Beggars Opera, Nedda in Pagliacci and Tosca. Michaele appears with Symphony Central Coast and Central Coast Philharmonia and has performed as the soprano soloist for Camina Burana, Mendelssohn's Symphony 2, and The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins. Other highlights include recitals with classical guitarist Slava Gregoryan, principal role of Queen of Light in The Gravel Pit Opera; Songs of the Sea (a new work created for her by New York based composer, Padma Newsome) and a national tour as singer and actor in Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle. We are delighted to announce that outstanding musicians, Sophie Kelly (flute) and Conor McGill (violin), are nominees for ENCORE. ENCORE is a program of outstanding performances and compositions by students from the HSC Music examinations. This prestigious music program is a joint venture between the NSW Education Standards Authority and the NSW Department of Education. Conor, who also gained an early entry offer to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Bachelor of Music – Performance, said, “I was excited, my dream was coming true”. It is for students of violin, viola, cello and double bass and includes classes in Chamber Music for intermediate and advanced students. Saturday Morning Strings runs for nine weeks per school term and comprises six key activites including: 1. He is also an accomplished classical guitar player/teacher. He holds a Masters and a PhD in music, as well as B.Mus and a Jazz Diploma. He has studied guitar with luminaries such as Australia’s George Golla, and Americans Mike Stern (ex Miles Davis) and Pat Martino. His classical guitar teachers include John Della Torre and Greg Pickler. Guy has taught at UWS, UNSW, Macquarie University, the Sydney Conservatorium, The Australian Institute of Music, and Sydney Grammar School. Several of his students have gone on to establish strong careers in music, including 10 that made it into the Jazz Study Degree Program at Sydney Conservatorium. He has worked with many national and international greats, including Martin Taylor, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Don Burrows, Dale Barlow, George Golla, Sandy Evans, Slava Grigoryan, Mike Stern, and Vince Jones. Launch of New Teaching Partnership. 15-Oct-2020 The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music (CCCM) and the University of New England (UNE) have formed a formal teaching partnership, allowing music students in the Central Coast region to receive private music tuition locally while completing their music degree online.
UNE Music has designed an Instrumental and Vocal Studies program which offers a sequence of advanced performance training units over the course of the 3- year Bachelor of Music. Utilising the experience and expertise of CCCM’s teachers, each unit incorporates weekly one to one instrumental lessons alongside a host of activities provided by CCCM and the community. These include participation in large and small ensembles, master classes and workshops with world-class special guest musicians, accompanying and/or conducting work, and public performances.

The Central Coast Conservatorium (CCC) Vocal Department brings together an exceptional group of Vocal Teachers to deliver an exciting performance program for the students. The CCC Vocal Department presents four concerts each year, one each term. The concerts encompass different genres and include Songs of Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre Cabaret, Classical Concert and End of Year Contemporary Concert. The Central Coast Primary Wind Ensemble (CCPWE), also known as Super Band, is a musical extension program for primary school aged student musicians who play woodwind, brass or percussion instruments on the NSW Central Coast. Create a Practice Routine Creating a consistent practice routine is paramount to improving your violin playing. Here are some tips that may help you to establish a great routine: Practice at the same time every day. When you have a regular practice time, you are less likely to make excuses or skip it.
Use the student diary to track your practice. There are also a variety of apps available that will help keep track of your practice. Maximise your violin playing Practice Routine Do a simple warm up at the beginning. Where can I go to learn play violin? How can I learn the violin? Learning the Violin is fun and students as young as 5 years of age are suitable to start learning. At Central Coast Conservatorium, you can start with an introduction to the violin, such as in our Summer School where we run a "Learn the Violin in 4 Days" class. This is a rewarding exercise and will indicate whether the student is interested and suited to playing the violin. During school term, we run a Beginner Violin Ensemble where 3-4 students of all ages can learn the basics over two terms before committing to lessons or to our Mini String Ensemble. If you're ready to start one-to-one lessons, you can start with half an hour a week, to 45 or 60 minutes a week, depending on your age and level of playing.
