While I’d like to believe that one day I could possibly make a life for myself here, realistically I can’t. Not to say that people don’t, but I haven’t met a single ex-pat that I could say has made a better life for themselves here than they would back home. But that’s beside the point now, isn’t it? People don’t come here to make a life for themselves – they come here to escape the stagnancy of life back home, wherever home may be… the U.S., Norway, Denmark, Germany, France… (by the way, there are far too many Europeans living in such a small city for it to be remotely healthy.
