The goal of our Arabic program is to provide students with the skills necessary to read and understand with the Quran.
The language taught is Modern Classical Arabic, with a primary focus on reading fluency using appropriate tajweed (quranic recitation), reading comprehension, writing, and speaking. The Bureau of Islamic and Arabic Education Methodology (BIAE) develops the Arabic curriculum for New Horizon students. The mission of the BIAE Arabic Language Program, is to empower the New Horizon School students with adequate Arabic language skills to enable them to read and comprehend the Quran.
The BIAE believes that in promoting the four language skills (listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing), the students will be able to understand Islam from its authentic sources and interact actively with Arabic as a living language. It is originally devised and taught at the International Islaamic University, Madinah. The course is successfully used in schools, colleges and universities throughout the world. This course is now launched for children and named: ‘Madinah Arabic Reader‘.
