Dan Greller, the former CIO at Legg Mason, and currently technology innovation consultant, speaker and writer (with a great blog ), was kind enough to join me for my second CIO 2.0 Conversation. Dan has 30 years of experience managing global technology organizations, mostly within the financial services industry. Having first entered the job market when the debate between mainframe and desktop computing was raging, Dan has seen his share of technology innovation battles – which made it particularly interesting to discuss this latest battle between innovation and control taking place within most companies around adopting new technologies. According to Dan, that balance between innovation and control has remained the hardest balance for CIO’s to manage. http://www.marketingtwo.net/

Marketing 2.0

February 22, 2010 LOS ANGELES (AdAge.com) -- As far as breakout musicians go, few artists have had quite the zero-awareness-to-ubiquity time-warp of Lady Gaga. Vitrue's partners using products such as The Vitrue Social Relationship Manager (SRM), are seeing dramatic increases in both the number of fans and engagement levels of those fans using Wall Apps," said Reggie Bradford, CEO of Vitrue. "This has led to an incredible growth of aggregate fans managed by Vitrue products to over 22 million, up from less than one million only 12 months ago." Wall Apps can include customized coupons, polls and quizzes - an increasingly popular pastime for Facebookers - as well as slideshows, email and event applications. http://www.bizreport.com/2010/03/vitrue_gives_social_marketers_mini-app_option.html

http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/4780/Don-t-Work-for-Free-Track-Conversions.aspx Imagine this: Your teenage son comes home from school one day with a big smile on his face, and announces he's accepted a summer job mowing lawns. Needless to say, you're impressed. The summer hasn't even started and he's got something all lined up. What initiative! What great parenting!
