The Writings of Leslie Lamport/timeclocks

Omitted are papers for which I no longer have copies and papers that are incomplete. I have also omitted early versions of some of these papers--even in cases where the title changed. Included are some initial drafts of papers that I abandoned before fixing errors or other problems in them. A table of contents precedes the descriptions. I also include a brief . Andrew File System. The Andrew File System (AFS)[1] is a distributed file system which uses a set of trusted servers to present a homogeneous, location-transparent file name space to all the client workstations.

Andrew File System

It was developed by Carnegie Mellon University as part of the Andrew Project.[2] It is named after Andrew Carnegie and Andrew Mellon. Its primary use is in distributed computing.
